Has anyone used the Universal springs that etrailer sells?

I'm looking at getting 4 of the UNA-111/SP-111275 springs to install when I replace the worn out Lippert equalizer with a Dexter EZ-Flex setup.

The reviews on etrailer are great, but wondering if any of you have 1st hand experience with them.

Just a no-name Chinese spring.

We had a local spring shop, but they must have closed their doors as I cannot find any info on them.

I’ll add that they are 25.25” springs for 5200lb axles. I’m trying to lift the rear so I’m going with 3000lb springs with a 5 pack.

Between the springs and and EZ-flex’s shorter shackles I should net 1.5” of lift after a little allowance for sag. I’d prefer closer to 2”, but can’t seem to find springs that give me enough height. It will still be damn near level at 1.5”.

I just replaced my worn out 3 leafs with 5 leafs from etrailer. I don't know what genious decided on 3 leafs for a 32' fifth wheel but the 5's are there now. I haven't towed it yet but they did raise the rig about 2". Fit and finish were fine, they do have China painted on them.

I’d guess they are the same brand.

The springs/axles are the same on my TT (4sale) and 5th wheel, and wow the 5th wheel has sagged a lot more for what appears to be fewer miles but slightly heavier on the axles.

You might want to check local trailer supply places (or that sell trailers). I have 2 locally that sell mostly dump, horse/cattle trailers. One is much cheaper on parts than the other. When I did the work on relocation the car trailer axles, they had all the Dexter parts in stock and were not much more than mail order, and I was able to verify fit before purchase. (drums, brakes, springs, shackles, bushings, etc)

So Rockwell American appears to be US made, who Northern Tool sells, but I can’t seem to find anyone specifically selling their 4352-29 spring. I’ll make some phone calls when business hours get here.

It looks like all the 6 pack 25.25” sprigs are for 7K axles, and I don’t want to get that stiff. I’m already going one size up, not sure if that’s good or bad as it varies based on what you read.

Same for me, local trailer place was as cheap if not cheaper than etrailer. Had what I needed on hand except for enough brass bushing kits. Found the rest at a local RV Dealer....

I used 5 leaf, that was plenty of upgrade from the 4 leaf. Thread below..

Just a one leaf increase combined with the fact the springs are new made about a 2" difference in height. Made the entry steps higher, have to put a block down if on a site with any slope from pad height. I still trip going in occasionally....

I also feel that getting things too stiff under there will put additional stress on other components. I guarantee I would have bent the OEM 4800 lb axles with the five leaf springs. We load heavy and the roads over to the coast are BAD....

In Maine these are "Sideling Roads", probably everywhere else it would referred to as "Highly Crowned" roads. Regardless it keeps the trailer rocking and moving towards the ditch...

Looking at it more I think the 1.5” I’ll get from 4 to 5 pack springs and shorter shackles will be plenty. Steps won’t be over effected and I’ll have plenty of clearance.

Well I made some phone calls and cannot find a local distributor for Rockwell American. They can ship the springs from Oregon, but they are double the cost of any other spring I've found.

Probably going to end up with those UNA-111's. They do have excellent reviews.

Alright, I found a online retailer with the US Made Rockwell American springs. With shipping they are actually $0.40/spring cheaper than the UNA-111's thru etrailer.

They are 1/2 the price, plus shipping, of getting them direct from Rockwell American.

So, give it up,where?

Just for everyone’s information when I replaced all 4 on my gn I found the original metal tag with the part number on the spring. 8 years of road salt and it was still legible. My local truck spring shop had them in stock for a couple of $ more than online. I much prefer to do business eye to eye and support the local shop whenever I can.

Supporting local is great, if it's available.

I'm not ordering the springs for a day or two, and am still trying to find decent springs local. So far that's not happening.

That is being a responsible consumer. ;)

Well getting local springs isn't going to work. So far everyone local sells China steel and I'd rather order US online than get local China steel.

I am able to get the bearings locally, and cheaper, than online so that's a plus.
