I was looking for a turbo to replace the stock one on my truck. I already have 3000k govenor springs and #10 plate in the pump, AFE intake and 4" MBRP turbo back exhaust. A friend of mine has a brand new turbo that he wants to sell me. It is made by Holset and is a PT 60-86. Is this something to look into? I also have plans to install some bigger injectors. Thanks for the help.

JDK ... I haven't bought since the hybrid HX40 then turned into a PDR40. Holset is old school, old technology. I'd give the HTT & II boys a call, tell them your set up and what you have planned. Also PM some of the 12 valvers with a similar setup as yours. Go with one of their hybrids. If I was going to replace the 40, that's what I'd do. The new turbos work super and is still getting better!

Good luck.

I am using a Garrett GT37R Stage 3,Roller bearing, water cooled center section charger on mine right now. Its lightning fast on spoolup and will perform well up to about 500hp. About that point its out of gas and the need then will be for something bigger as I have found out now. With you say you have in your truck it may a option for you to consider... ... Andy

It all depends on what you do with your truck, and how big you are going to go with injectors. It also depends on how much HP you're looking for. The hybrid works well for me, since my truck is a daily driver, and tow vehicle. Have you replaced your clutch, yet? If not, that will be next. :D

Do you think the 60-86 is old school or a hybrid turbo? I talked to DDP on some injectors and thinking I should use Stage 2 or 3's. I know my clutch is on borrowed time, 150,000 on origional. I am thinking about a double disk, but didn't know negatives about on daily driver. Thinking about local truck pulls down the road. Also, a set of head studs should be added before long.
