I would like to replace the batteries in my 1999 24 Valve model 2500 Quad Cab. I was reading an article in issue 43 and something was said about resetting the accelerator memory? This is my first Dodge and first Diesel. Is there anything I need to do when replacing the batteries other than removing the old ones and installing the new ones? I have seen it done at work, but with much larger diesel trucks, and all that was done was remove the old and install the new. Thanks in advance for your help. This is really an incredible source of information. Also if there is something I need to do, can you lead me to a previous post or guide me through what is needed.

New batteries

Reseting the APPS is "turn on ign. switch with engine off, slowly press accelerator pedal all the way to floor then release". I replaced my batteries about eight months ago and didn't have to do the reprogram. bg

I just did the batteries on my wife's 2000 and didnt do anything other than clean all the cable ends and hook up the new Optima's.

Same for me on my '99. Just pulled the old ones out and put the new ones in.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to purchase new batteries this week. We have an Interstate Battery warehouse store close by. I was planning on going there, unless someone can suggest another type of battery that may be better. Thanks again. This is just a great forum to have questions answered.

Of replacement Batteries, Wally has direct replacement and the Price is right. 3 year replacement, no Charge if defective, met a DTD owner had 3 replaced no Charge, as an Afterthought, though Perhaps his charging system should be checked, it's strange, but many people have no concept of Cause & Effect, "I keep Beating on it, but it still will not work!" Stealing impacts us All, and raises the cost of doing business, Scrum Down
