Both of my negative terminals are cracked where the bolts go through. I ordered a complete set of replacements from Geno's and tried to install them this weekend. The (+) cable to the starter appears to be clamped on top of the D/S motor mount and I cannot see how to remove it to get the cable out. There was a nylon tie around it but even after cutting it that cable won't budge (can't even remove the cable tie). Can anyone tell me the secret to removing this clamp/cable?

It's directly to the left of the red tape with the + on it:

Probably rust underneath holding the little zippy tie from coming out. Does the black plastic holder clamshell open perhaps?? Or it may be pushed on over a protruding stud or bolt.

A possibility...

That's what I can't tell. Tried to get a mirror in there but couldn't see anything (was working from the fender well). It was drizzling pretty good and I had just finished rebuilding the starter so my patience was getting thin. All I can say is when I reached in there after disconnecting the cable off the starter I still couldn't move it.

As I said, it's right on top of the motor mount and beneath the fuel filter... can't see anything from the top either.

Looked at mine, can't really tell but it looks like the clamp/rubber support may have ears which go through the motor support bracket and held in place by the tie wrap. If you can get to it try compressing the clamp with a pair of pliers and see if that releases it??

Can't see down in there well enough to help. Did notice a bad spot on the lower trans cooler line.......GRRR...

Even tried the parts breakdown but they don't show that cable clamp off by itself....

I just replaced both of mine and didn't have any fixing clamps to remove. The lead clamps are crappy. I saved my old ones and am going to replace the clamps with solid copper solder on.

That clamp is the default routing to keep the cable out of harms way. Should just slide out of the clamp. I think I ended up cutting the cable to get it out then threaded the new one thru it when I replaced it.

The cable didn't seem to want to move which is why I cut the tie wrap. Even then it wouldn't move.

Not sure I could get a large enough cutter up in there as my hand barely fits.

Hoping to get a chance to look at it again this weekend but the weather doesn't look promising
