i would like to get rid of the carpet in my truck and replace with that rubber stuff like you get when you order it from the dealer. does the dealer sell this as an aftermarket?

does anyone have this kind of floor in their truck.

i live in florida and track in a lot of sand and crap. would love to just have the solid rubber floor... .

i currently have the geno husky liners. they are ok but i have to pull them out regularly... .

just curious.

thanks.

Rubber floor

In my 93 I had the complete OEM rubber floor. It was very easy to deal with. I could use a dust brush to clean the interior. I only found 3 problems.

1: It looks pretty plain. (not that I cared)

2: Many adhesives wouldn't stick to it for long (yes I glued stuff to the floor)

3: I had a mildew problem. The fabric padding under the rubber mat got wet. It smelled aweful. I solved this by pealing back the rubber, let it dry, reinstalled.

Other than that it was a nice to have a low maintenance floor. NEVER had any rips, tears or scratches.

Hope this helps,

simon

No problems here..........

In the work truck I drag all sort of stuff into the truck. Floor always looks messy because you can see eveything. Clean up is a snap though. The only problem I had was when I had it detailed once, the armor alled the floor and it was too slick for my liking. It did make it look good though.

Dunno if you can get the rubber floor from the dealer; I would expect you can order anything you want, though.

I ordered my '98 witth SLT, but deleted the carpet. The rubber floor is nice, though it *might* make the interior a bit louder. I like it regardless. It is easy to clean and doesn't become permanently dirty.

How much to you want to spend??? After all we all know them 5 stars double the price of everything. Glad they don't have 10 stars or you would be paying $50 for a 10amp fuse.

Well getting to the point, talk to your local Rhino Lining or Line-X place or even get the do-it-yourself roll on kits from the local parts store. The guy that sprayed my bed quoted me $200 if I remove the seats, carpet etc and help with masking off the truck for spraying. That included spraying up to the back window. I have not done it yet but I've seen alot of trucks that have been sprayed inside. The roll-on kits run about $100, I've never seen this stuff used so I can say what the final results are like but it is a semi-cheap alternative.

I had the carpet deleted on my 02. It is the only way to go. No more carpet shampooing every monday during hunting season:)

Rubber Floor

I am thinking about the same also. J. C. Whitney (mail order) has some listed for around $200 +/-. They claim to be higher quality material.

I ordered my truck when I was doing construction work, I went with the rubber mat (carpet delete) option. Now that I'm not working anymore, I sometimes think about carpet. The spray in stuff sounds good too. My mat is wearing through in a few spots. I know water and crap get under it too. It has pulled away from the door sills a little bit.

.....only way to go

I work construction, and after 30,000 mi. and it still looks new. I dust it out once a week with my "California Duster". Takes less than 5 min. A friend of mine has 140,000+ on his '97 and it still looks new! Doesn't show coffee stains either!;)

my . 02... ..... Jim.
