I'm not real knowledgeable on injectors and how they work. I have 300 marine injectors but want to replace just the tips to make them 370's. First of all is this possible? Are the tips different in any way? I assume you have to take the injector apart somehow, anybody have a sight that has pictures showing a step by step process of taking an injector apart and putting back together? Or is it kinda self explanatory when you just look at the injector? I'm kinda nervous about doing it because I don't want to mess up my only set of injectors I have right now on my daily driver. The only performance mod I haven't done to my truck is the timing only because I don't have the tools, I'm fairly mechanically inclined but working with such an intricate item as an injector with I'm sure tons of small parts in it makes me nervous. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, but for the price of 370 tips (even though they are some of the cheapest) why not just buy a whole set of 370 injectors? It would not be that much more money plus you could sell the 300's and come out money ahead vs. by buying the just the tips.

If an injector has been disassembled, IMHO it should be pop tested and reset if necessary. Many guys do not do this and get away with it but personally I feel it should be part of the process.

The 370 tips are about 1/2 of buying 370 injectors. I know my 300's are good, they only have 7K miles on them.

What if an injector pop tests bad? Does that mean the injector is no good and needs replaced or can it be fixed?

Last I checked stock 370 tips were $32-$34 and injectors were $50 (or lesss). Maybe tips are cheaper now?

Most of the time an injector may need to be reshimmed to being the pop pressures back up to specs. If you are starting with low mileage sticks you may not have any issues.

I found tips for under $29 a piece shipped to my door too. I've found 370 injectors for $50 but never cheaper unless used. City diesel have 370's for $300.

Yeah my 300's have about 5-7K on them, I installed them myself brand new just a couple months after I got the truck.

I may go with buying the whole injector though, probably used and then I'll sell my 300's or keep them as spares. Thanks for all your help.
