Replacing OEM fan with Mechanical one, thoughts?

Need to replace another fan clutch in one of my trucks (03"). Was looking at Strictly Diesel's web site, they have a kit that replaces your OEM fan clutch with an thermal one (Hayden #2835). You need to buy the adaptor ($199.95) and OBS fan clutch($189.95), total costs including free shipping $389.90. About the same cost as an OME fan clutch.Was wondering if anyone else has done this "modification?" Thanks, Frank

You'd have to live with the CEL on all the time and I doubt it would work as good as the OEM.

Just be sure you get a genuine Mopar clutch, should be good for 100k+ miles.

You will blow hot air at idle with AC on in 85+F 2-4 minutes .... Keep the OEM Clutch or pay a high price in sweat and tears.
