Replacing glass in mirrors?

I have an '04, 3500 dually that I'm going to install some alloys on. To put 2 on the rears, I need to install longer studs.

Does anyone have some experience replacing studs on the rear? How much do I have to take off the back end to get at the studs? Do I need to remove the entire hub? Or can I push out the new ones and slip the new ones in without taking everything apart?

Any wisdom from experience (good or bad) would be appreciated!

I'm sorry, I can't speak from experience. However, I checked the stud removal/installation procedure in the factory service manual and it implies the rear studs can be removed without the need to remove the rear axles. Only the calipers and rotors need to be removed.
