I’m in the process of replacing the recirculation door. Does anyone have advice on removing the amplifier without removing the dash? Any tricks or special tools to reach the one bolt located on the hard to reach left side of the amplifier?

Thanks!

I used a combination of wrenches to loosen the most difficult bolt, then used a flex drive to remove it. It was the most difficult part of the job. I spent as much time on that step as the rest of the job combined. If you're using the HeaterTreater parts, it is not necessary to cut the intake grill out. The door will install from the bottom where the blower motor is located. See if you can search my old posts and find several pictures I posted. I would repost them but they're not on my Mac.

I found you can repair and re install the door without removing the dash. on another one of our 06's I simply blocked the screen for the outside air and left the door out, I like it best and only took 30 minutes total time, I never liked outside air anyway. to get to the screen lift the plastic piece the windshield wiper post's go through and there is a foil backed rubber patch covering a access hole where you can see the screen. I should have taken pix of each but was not thinking.
