replacing shox

are the front shox easy to remove, never done a dodge 4x4 before?

They are not a bad job to get removed, just have to work around a few things, Take your time and plan it out. Are you changing them out for a reason? Were the stock one crap?

got 22 1/2k on them i think they are getting a lil mushy, do you have to take the 3 nuts and shock tower off on the front to remove?

I've got 18k and their dead. I'm not an avid off roader so I was planning on just getting some Monroe's. They let you change them out whenever you want , no questions asked. But I'm wondering... Does anyone know if Ranchos ride as well on the street as Monroe's and do they have a lifetime warranty?

PDog - Yes the Ranchos ride as well as I can feel, 'cept I have my RS9000X's cranked up to 9. My front end was getting a little wild, in fact down right scary at 85 MPH when I cross onto or off of a Freeway Bridge with the stock shocks.



DP69- Fronts change easy with very little knuckle blood. Pull the bottom bolts first, you'll need deep or long reach to get them, and the pass side may have the drag link in the way. I just pop the drag link, but with a wobble you can get in there.



Then remove the top nut, do not remove the 3 tower nuts until the top nut is loose or you'll be sorry. The stock shocks are hooded so you can't grab the rod shaft with vise grips if thats what your thinking of doing, and I don't think you can wiggle the shock out with the tower attached, there isn't enough room. Of course I impact wrench everything, best power tool I ever bought.



Wiggle em out without shorting the battery, drop in the new ones and in a half hour and three beers your done!

Has or does Bilstein make shocks fro the 03? Has anybody ran with them yet? They are my favorite from past rides... .
