Sorry to hear about that, Ken.....either you jinxed yourself in post #17......or I jinxed you in post #18. Did you tell them it was so simple even a caveman could do it?????

Yeah Greg. I even offered to do it in their door yard and let them charge the labor to Ram. I told them if they bought the part I change it out! They were going to let me but one of their mechanics came available so they said we'll do it in a few minutes. We'll they damaged my mirror in just a few minutes. Would you make them fix it? Next thing you know the door will be damaged!!!!

Obviously they *assumed* (we all know how the word ASSUME breaks down :-laf ) that the lamp snapped into place......with no knowledge it was secured to the housing with a screw. Looks minor....but it's not my mirror, either. I guess it depends on if / how much you want to rock the boat, Ken.

Couldn't take it anymore. Called the dealer, they said bring it out so they can have a look at it. Service manager looks at my truck asks what all the white residue is on the window felt, I say wax, then asks me if this is the damage I'm talking about pointing at the divit in the mirror, I say yes. He goes around to look at the passenger side mirror runs his fingers over the seam on that mirror. He asks me to stand by while he talks to the tech that did the work on Satuerday, I say OK. Then service manager asks the tech if he tried to pry it out from the front. He admitts to trying to pry it out before looking up how to remove the LED light in the computer. Service manager says we will order you a new mirror. I say OK. Now if we can just not ruin the door panel while swapping out the mirror. Of course ,had to order the part. Should have done what Greg did...should have just replaced it myself and ate the cost of the replacement part. Maybe LEDs lights weren't such a good idea after all. Ken Irwin

#@$%!

I think I have a "How To" on door panel removal..... ;)

I already searched and read the whole thread, both here and on Cummins Forum!!!!!!! Thanks for that thread Greg. I now know I could do it without dropping the mirror, or breaking any tabs off the door panel or denting the door. Now the real question is can a certified 5 star Ram delaer do it without damaging anything else. :{ #@$%!#@$%!#@$%!

The dealer did manage to crack the convex mirror on mine. Took about a week to get the replacement, but did get it before heading south

So i had my right mirror LED module replaced about 10 months ago and it has failed again. Called the dealer to see if it is warranted since it was replaced. turns out the replacements have a 12 month/12k mile warranty...won't honor mine cause i have a little over 15k miles on it since replacement. Now both of mine are not working again. Has anyone been able to source a upgraded part for these lights or figured out how to make them work? Since i have nothing to lose with the warranty issue, i removed it myself and cleaned the contacts as others have suggested, but it still does not work. I have check the leads, there is power on them, but the light modules refuse to work.

Really frustrated....any thought???

I'm with ya.......the one I replaced in this thread had yet another one of the four LED's go south last week. My dealer ordered up a replacement for me, no charge. I'd either write a well constructed letter to RAM and or get someone involved at Customer Service and see what happens.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease......can't wait to see how long this replacement----replacement lasts.

Any takers ???? :-laf

Don't drive your truck so much Greg, your wearing it out. Go the HoresmanAR route, trade every 10 months that should fix it!
