Hi all I know you guys know this answer How do you get the crankcase vent off the cover? Do you pry it off or is there a clip behind the cover. So far everything is coming off good. Thanks for the help Rick

If i need any help can i call you guys Back? LOL

I've stuck the end of the ratchet in the hole and very easily turned it. Turn it towards the passenger side of hte truck.

Just had mine off to do a valve adjustment. As stated above use a filter strap wrench. It only has about 3 threads to it. Isn't really that tight at all due to being plastic.

Did you go with the HRVP44? or stock. What's your truck? Suggest making a signature so we can better provide info based on your set-up.

i got the stock vp44 at cummins. At $1. 700. 00 my wallet is still crying... . LOL. Thank you all for your help... Its going pretty good. They wanted 750. 00 labor to install. I figure i can screw it up as bad as anyone else. LOL

Thanks again for all your help. Rick

The vent turned right off. . thanks. I brought this truck with a 130,000 miles it is clean and ran good, for 4 months but of couse i got the dead pedal syndome. I replaced the lift pump and that helped about a week. So i put the computer from my work and it came with the injection pump failing. Thanks again everyone.

750 dollars to install a VP-44!!!! Taking my time I can do one in about an hour. The Chilton Manual only suggests 2. 2 hours to replace the pump. $1700 is also kinda steep for a VP 44 also. Is that with the core charge? What a ripoff!

no they want $950. 00 for the core charge. It took me 5 hours to replace it. first time doing it. But im happy. . Has lot more power too Rick
