Kirwin asked a question which was way off the original subject of my thread regarding the Check Gauges Light on my '06 which turned out to be the false battery temp P0504 which has been resolved by a newly available reflash.
The question is regarding my '93 W250 which the '06 was to replace. Well, I still have the '03 and have made no attempt to sell it. The day after I brought the '06 home we had a flood and the principal road to my property became a river, then mud bog. I was not about to get the new truck dirty, so I drove the '93. That's still kind of what's happening. I treat the '06 like a prima donna and do all the nasty stuff with the '93. I know that's not right, but I'm used to the '93.
During the flooding, a neighbor wanted to buy the '93. Well, I don't think it matters to that neighbor whether they get a Chevy, Ford or Dodge - they just want a 4WD. I'm not even sure that they know the difference between a diesel and a gas engine. Not long ago I got an invite to a function of the TDR chapter in Idaho, and strange as it may seem for someone in Nevada to consider going 400 miles to a function in Idaho, I'm thinking about doing just that. If I do, and I meet someone who wants to restore a Gen 1, I'll probably work something out. If not, registration and insurance on the '93 is cheap and I'll probably have a lot more muddy roads to travel.
