Reprogram for 35 x 12.50 tires

I went to 35" tires on my 05. When I have the computer reset for the correct revolutions this should correct the speedo. and milage. I have 3. 73 gears. It feels like the truck bogs down and needs to shift to a lower gear sometimes. This can't be good for the trans. When I have the dealer reset the revs. per mile will this change the shift points for a better down shift at the right time. Are there any pros or cons in having this done. My mpg will not be good with 35" tires may have to go to 33". Thanks for the help!

changing the pinion factor will not change the fact that you are overgeared. I much prefer the 4'10s with 315's and towing is much more apt to earn you a speeding ticket

I have the same set up as you... truck, tires and gears... I have not had my computer reset yet but plan to... I found that putting the transmission in the tow/haul mode cures the bogging... I only run with it off on the highway (speeds over 55 mph).

Had the same problem... truck just felt like it was struggling and bogging. So I spent the cash and put in Yukon 4. 10's. Problem solved. Gas mileage with 35's still isn't good, but that's the price you pay. Transmission is definitely happier though with the gear swap.
