Reprogramming 06 RAM Country Code for DRL

Just picked up my 2006 RAM QC LB. I wanted to have the dealer reprogram the truck so the lights come on and go off with the ignition (Daytime Running Lights). APparently if the truck was sold in Canada it would have come this way. The dealer's service dept was unable to figure how to do this because for some reason it is different than the 05 model year. Any ideas out there?

Not an answer to your question, but you can leave your lights on and once you take out the key they will shut off within about 5 minutes. I turned my lights on on my truck a couple years ago and have never turned them off.

I called them back when and STAR told us how enable daytime running lights by changing country to Canada.

This is a StarSCAN truck not a DRBIII. It takes special software that is not available to the dealer.

We tried several times to get mine turned on by changing the country code. We were never able to figure it out. It seems that the 06's are different from the other 3rd Gens. After you change the country code the option of DRL (I think it was called something else in the STAR tool) was not available.

If someone can figure it out let me know. I think it would be a good addition.

Interseting, mine stay on with the truck off. if i leave the lights on when i turn the truck off and then turn the lights off, they will stay on for a few minutes.

They should shut off on thier own, not sure how long though, never timed it, could be a little longer than 5 minutes.

Book says they shut off after 10 minutes if u leave them on. Don't really want to leave them on that long and have everyone wondering who the dumbass was that left their lights on.
