Reputable Mechanic - Texas

Hey all, was just wondering if anyone here might know of a good reputable mechanic that could perform work on my 2007. 5 Dodge 2500.



I had it at the dealer recently and they said I needed some work done to it, but the prices were just way over the top.



I am looking for someone in or around the Pearland/Houston area. Preferable South of Houston, but will adjust if I need to.

Thanks for the information. I will check them out. Really looking for someone that won't rob me to do some work on my truck. The EGR valve went out in mine and dealer wanted to charge me $1000. 00 to perform the work. I paid $300. 00 for the EGR and did it myself in 30 mins.

I need some front end work ($1700. 00 @ the dealer) and some rear end work ($1000. 00 @ the dealer) and I can buy most of the parts way cheaper than they are showing. I am sure I could do the front end work but the rear end is another story that I don't want to read!!!!

Remember, part of the profit a shop makes is on the parts. You wouldn't bring bring a steak to the restaurant and expect the chef to cook it for you at a discount. Also, when you supply the parts and something goes wrong with them, the installer isn't going to warranty the labor.

It looks like things may be changing concerning the "bring your own parts" scenario. I've been following a case in Maryland which, depending on the outcome, may change the way repair shops do business. The case is about a person suing a repair shop who installed his parts or failure of a part, not a defective installation. If he wins, you can bet that repair shop owners will use their parts, or tell you to go on down the road. I don't install customer supplied parts, for the same reason I don't take my eggs to the Waffle House.
