Thanks, TDR Staff

Anyone have a pic of an installed FASS DDRP-04?

The next step, Turbo?

I am requesting if someone with a bone stock 2005 CTD could snap a photo for comparison. It is relatively easy, a shot of the intake manifold where the air horn connects.

Thank you.

I would like to see what an un-modified one looks like. I am suspecting that a shop of which I brought my truck to might have left off an item. I want to make darn sure I know what a stock engine looks like.

Is there a sealed port from the factory for a boost tap? Is this sealed? I am not sure, but if there is a port on the part where the intake horn mounts, then there is the very real possibility that I have a boost leak which has been a cause of my driveabilty issues.

I would like a photo from someone to compare mine to before I confront the shop.

the part the horn mounts to is a grid heater, the bolts go through the heater and into the intake housing, there is no port. you will need to pressurize the system to find a leak, you do it by making a fitting to get 15 psi air on the intake side of turbo.

Here is the crux of my post... is the threaded boss shown by the arrow supposed to be plugged in any way? I inserted a paper clip and I feel what I believe to be some sort of closure. I do not recall if there ever was a plug here or if it needs one.

NO plug there on my 2005, just the same threaded boss, likely a mounting point for a part on another cummins isb application,

fkovalski, the plastic tube that is coming from the bolt, I installed that hollowed out bolt on my C&C, but didn't like how close the tube comes to the head so I installed a 1/4"(OD) copper line to move the plastic away from the head. Has it ever melted or softened up?

Quite honestly I do not know if it will melt or soften up. I installed the gauges less than a week ago... I still have an indication of boost to the gauge. If it is a concern perhaps I will move it to the bolt on the opposite side if that one is ported.

All I did was connect a copper extension away from the head, you can find all the brass fittings and copper at Home Depot or equivalent, I will post a pic when I get a chance. I had 10' of line to run to my sensor module, so I used 3/8 OD pneumatic tubing, I was afraid of a pressure drop, so I oversized the tubing. I didn't know if the tubing would melt, so I fit on a 1/4" copper line from the bolt.
