Lift Pump Solution?

About 4-5 days after I got my lift installed my truck developed a resonation that starts at about 60 MPH. I know that it is not the exhaust since it was done before the lift.

The tire and gear changes have mostly balanced out the cruise RPM so it is not there. I think it is somewhere in the drive train.

Has anyone else seen any strange resonations after a lift install? It feels like it is from the rear of the truck but I am not sure.

Thanks in advance for any idea's and help.

The lift did chance the angles yes. But as part of the kit it does come with angle shims to help correct the geometry of the drive line for the rear and the control arms do it in the front.

With that in mind , take a good look at your carrier bearing to see if it is 90 degreese to the driveline. there has been some problems with the carrier bearing not being at the right angles so look it over good.

I think I have the same problem but I didnt do a lift:confused: ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Kevin

I would hope that they know how to check that at the shop. I had my truck in for the gears after this problem started and they didnt say anything about it being off.

I will ask about it when I take it back in next week.

Any more ideas guys?

I would like to be able to go back in with a list of possiblities for them to check out instead of them just guessing at things all day long.

BILL_L - I posed the same question to the membership back in August/September. I experienced a "harsh resonance" around 1900-2000rpm pulling a 10,000lb trailer. It wasn't apparent all the time, just some times. I found that by "feathering" the go-pedal I could pass that rpm range without getting the resonance. My truck is not lifted by the way.

The answer I got back was this was normal drivetrain vibration and nothing to worry about. Do a search on "resonance" for that time period.
