I waited until I got the thing registered in California before I posted this.

Went and picked up my 3500 this weekend from Lithia in Eugene, OR. I was the first out of a group of 11 that ordered CA trucks that got the $1000 below invoice from that dealer and pick up the truck.

I was ready for all kinds of screw ups but came away very happy with the dealer and with the truck.

One of the keys was preparation. Before I left for Oregon I had the dealer do the following and get everything in writing:

- Verify my eligibility for the $2000/0% (thanks to the DC contact number on the forums!!! thx)

- Get the financing approved

- Check the emissions tag on the actual truck for the CARB cert

- Verify my eligibility for the Farm Bureau rebate and GET THE CERTIFICATE FROM YOUR LOCAL OFFICE!

- Sign the order form with pricing we agreed to including listing every rebate and the $70 DMV and processing fee.

- Agree to supply the rubber plugs under the frame. (thanks again for the info)

It turned out great. No surprises. Eric Todd has been promoted to Finance Mgr so initially I dealt with his sales replacement, Jeremy Hunsaker. We took the truck for a spin and he was very helpful. Then I had to work with Eric Todd the new Finance guy for the paperwork. There were a few snags (like me forgetting the stupid FB certificate in CA) but Eric maintained a "we can work this out" attitude the entire time and I got everything I signed up for.

I'm only speaking for this one dealership and this one individual. I've heard plenty of horror stories about other Lithia dealerships and personally have never experienced a pleasant car buying experience until this one. I would not hesitate to buy from them again.

Went to AAA Tuesday to get it registered. They did come out and look at the emissions tag... whew! I paid my taxes and registration and got a temp CA tag until I get it weighed.

Unfortunately the $1000 under invoice is not available anymore but I would do it again to avoid some of these a-holes in Southern CA. Not a bad drive either.

Now that I know them I would have had other aftermarket things done like a hitch, spray in bedliner, etc done up there and rolled into the 0% financing.

Soooo, If you don't mind me asking, What did the truck go for out the door. not including Calif Sales Tax. Hmmmm??? Also, a complete list of options. I see a few listed on your post.

Thanks

Looks like you did very well on the price. Im glad they treated you well.

Its a shame Arnold is gonna want his 7. 5 %. Lithia sales department treated me good. My issues are with the service department. I wish they would call them garages as the word service is not in the rules.

I took in a price that Dave Smith had quoted me. They came within $500 of that and I bought. I felt it was worth the extra $500 since I didnt want my new truck to have 1,000 miles on it before it saw my driveway. It would have cost me more than that to fly to Idaho and drive it home. I do love my truck though. I just wish dealers would treat people the same AFTER they buy the truck!

I was in for a service appointment yesterday and I mentioned my wife was interested in a new Durango with the Hemi. Funny thing, I was treated with respect. Fancy that!

Enjoy the new ride!
