Doc, I think the reason no one is jumping in is that most folks with a lick of sense are slowly realizing it's all true and the résumé is only going to get worse.

I myself voted for what I thought of as the lesser of the evils. From my view if Gore had gotten in everybody in Alaska would have packed up and had to move away since the whole state whould have probably been turned into a Wilderness area. I look at politicians as a bunch of crooks anyway. They may not have started out as crooks but eventually turned into crooks by the peer pressure. A honest man doesn't want the job. This is my opinion so there is no need to hang me at Dawn.

Any SUITABLE and appropriate reply would violate all the forum rules about civility and decency of language.

Hey Champagne, open up here... ... how do you really feel about President Bush??? :--)

God Bless America and our troops overseas!!;) ;)

Couldn't find Clinton's resume but found his ratings with two years remaining in his last term;

(AllPolitics, December 20, 1998) -- In the wake of the House of Representatives' approval of two articles of impeachment, Bill Clinton's approval rating has jumped 10 points to 73 percent, the latest Gallup poll shows.

That's not only an all-time high for Clinton, it also beats the highest approval rating President Ronald Reagan ever had.

At the same time, the number of Americans with an unfavorable view of the Republican Party has jumped 10 points; less than a third of the country now has a favorable view of the GOP.

Despite concerns that public calls for Clinton's resignation would rise after his impeachment, the number of Americans who want Clinton to resign has remained statistically unchanged. Only 30 percent want Clinton to resign; only 29 percent want the Senate to convict Clinton and remove him from office.

The poll, released Sunday, also shows that 35 percent approve of the House's decision to impeach the president.

Interviews with 8852 adult Americans were conducted December 19-20, after the House of Representatives voted to impeach Clinton.

Let's not forget Clinton's resume.....

Champ, of these two, which one would you like your daughter to marry? Which one would you like to say"I promise to love and honor... til death do us part" right before the I do's?

Oh, I almost forgot this!

I recently saw a bumper sticker that said, "Thank me, I

voted for Clinton-Gore. " So, I sat down and reflected on

that, and I am sending my Thank you" for what you have

done, specifically:

1. Thank you for introducing us to Jennifer Flowers, Paula

Jones, Monica Lewinsky, Dolly Kyle Browning, Kathleen

Willey, and Juanita Broderick. Did I leave anyone out?

2. Thank you for teaching my 8 year old about oral sex. I

had really planned to wait until they were older to discuss

it with them, but now they know more about it than I did as

a senior in college.

3. Thank you for showing us that sexual harassment in the

work place (especially the White House) and on the job is

OK, and all you have to know is what the meaning of "is"

is. It really is great to know that certain sexual acts are

not sex, and one person may have sex while the other one

involved does NOT have sex.

4. Thank you for reintroducing the concept of impeachment

to a new generation and demonstrating that the ridiculous

plot of the movie "Wag the Dog" could be plausible after

all.

5. Thanks for making Jimmy Carter look competent, Gerald

Ford look graceful, Richard Nixon look honest, Lyndon

Johnson look truthful, and John Kennedy look moral.

6. Thank you for the 73 House and Senate witnesses who have

pled the 5th Amendment and 17 witnesses who have fled the

country to avoid testifying about Democratic campaign fund

raising.

7. Thank you, for the 19 charges, 8 convictions, and 4

imprisonments from the Whitewater "mess" and the 55

criminal charges and 32 criminal convictions (so far) in

the other "Clinton" scandals.

8. Thanks also for reducing our military by half, "gutting"

much of our foreign policy, and flying all over the world

on "vacations" carefully disguised as necessary trips.

9. Thank you, also, for "finding" millions of dollars--- I

really didn't need it in the first place, and I can't think

of a more well deserving group of recipients for my hard-

earned dollars than jet fuel for all of your globe-

trotting. I understand you, the family and your cronies

have logged in more time aboard Air Force One than any

other administration.

10. Now that you've left the White House, thanks for the

140 pardons of convicted felons and indicted felons-in-

exile. We will love to have them rejoin society.

11. Thanks also for removing the White House silverware.

I'm sure that Laura Bush didn't like the pattern anyway.

Also, enjoy the housewarming gifts you've received from

your "friends".

12. Thanks to you and your staff in the West Wing of the

White House for vandalizing and destroying government

property on the way out. I also appreciate removing all of

that excess weight (China, silverware, linen, towels, ash

trays, soap, pens, magnetic compass, flight manuals, etc. )

out of Air Force One. The weight savings means burning less

fuel, thus less tax dollars spent on jet fuel. Thank you!

13. And finally, please ensure that Hillary enjoys the $8

million dollar advance for her upcoming "tell-all" book and

you, Bill, the $10 million advance for your memoirs. Who

says crime doesn't pay!

14. The last and most important point - thank you for

forcing Israel to let Mohammad Atta go free. Terrorist

pilot Mohammad Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The

Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the

Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to

agree to release so-called "political prisoners".

However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on

their hands. The American President at the time, Bill

Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren

Christopher, "insisted" that all prisoners be released.

Thus Mohammad Atta was freed and eventually thanked the US

by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade

Center.

This was reported by many of the American TV networks at

the time that the terrorists were first identified. It was

censored in the US from all later reports. Why shouldn't

Americans know the real truth?

What a guy!!

If you agree that the American public must be made aware of

these facts, pass this on. God bless America and THANK YOU

(once again) for spending my taxes so wisely and frugally.

Sam:p

I do not agree with what he did but Clinton was not the only President to have sex with someone other than his spouse in the White House, just the first one to be persecuted for it. At least when he was in office people had job security and money in the bank to take care of their families, and our Government had a surplus not a record deficit.

Much of what "W" has to contend with was handed to him and quite a bit was a result of what happened as a result of 9/11.

I'd like to know where the original post originated complete with sources for the "data. "

No I guess "W" ain't spotless. That's no surprise to me anyway.

And while we're on the subject, when oh when are we going to leave Florida 2000 behind? My understanding is that 8 different newspapers have recounted all the votes since the debacle and in every one, "W" won. The US Surpreme Court should not have been involved. But the Florida Supreme Court was busying itself with rewriting Florida election laws. Somebody had to step in, didn't they?

And let's not forget that all Algore had to do was to win his home state of TN and Florida would have been meaningless.

I don't like the idea of an ever increasing Federal deficit either, but like are the Democrats going to fix it? Yeah right. Clinton didn't submit a balanced budget until after he got himself a GOP Congress. The DNC perfected the art of vote buying. Something the GOP seems to have latched onto unfortunately and we'll all be the poorer for it.

Regardless, even IF it were all true, Bush is still lightyears ahead of his predecessor. :)

Yep CF, Clinton got smacked around pretty good here and he still does. He deserves every bit of it and more. The guy is a crud.

Now, what have we solved here? Bush is a creep. Clinton is a bigger creep. Such is the state of American politics.

Makes me wonder why ANYONE has any faith in the US government to do the right thing. You'd think we'd all want less government and more of our take home pay. Something the RNC has traditionally stood for.

But some of us still think we can get a free lunch and as a result we will continue to get "free lunch" politicians and politics.

It's our fault.

Tim

Big difference

I guess the big difference between Clinton and Bush is that Clinton left office with the country having a surplus of monies, the Republican hence-men on his heels, and a sex scandal. Bush will leave office (we hope) with our troops in occupation of two foreign country's, men losing lives, country in BIG debt, largest bureaucracy, and several cases of accountability/lies to the American people. :D

As a Conservative, I am increasingly disappointed with the decisions the current administration is making. If I wanted a big-gov't Democrat, I would have voted for them!

I think the problem is NOT with the parties, nor really with Bush or Clinton. The problem imho is that there is no accountability in gov't. The power brokers don't have to answer for their conduct. Conservatives who believe in limited gov't and liberty will still voted for Bush. Socialists will still vote Democrat.

Either party can get away with murder and no one will call them on it. For me, I am leaning increasingly towards Libertarian thinking. Gov't is now an out-of-control monster than only a select few control-- the average American is either too stupid or too apathetic to effect change.

The best reform we could make would be to take away the right to vote from people who don't pay taxes. Otherwise, you have the legal right to steal money from someone else using the police power of gov't. This is wrong and will lead to SERIOUS consequences, as Cicero noted of the Roman empire. Why should someone who DIDN'T PAY TAXES have the right to determine that some of that tax money be sent to them?????

The American idea of liberty is becoming a narrower and narrower definition. You think you have freedom? Try to ride a motorcycle without a helmet, or drive without a seatbelt. Try to build a house that doesn't follow gov't regulation. Try farming without having to deal with land management issues. Try operating a business without running into the EPA, OSHA, Americans w/ Diabilities Act, etc. Trying flying with a tweezers in your pocket.

Gov't control of your life is everywhere, and no one cares because we are fat dumb and happy-- and ignorant and apathetic.

People cling too much to "free speech" while all their other freedoms are being stolen from under their very nose!!

Go ahead and waste your time debating Bush vs Clinton. I used to. Now I realize that it's like debating who the greatest quarterback was while standing on the deck of a sinking ship.

I, for one, think that maybe a little third-party shakeup is necessary for this country to survive...

HOHN

I, for one, think that maybe a little third-party shakeup is necessary for this country to survive...

I think its time for another civil war to dispense with those who despise liberty ... like amputating a limb in order for the patient to survive ... similar to chasing the loyalist out of the country in the 1780's.

I don't think just letting the taxpayers vote would solve anything. The government as been sold to the highest bidder a long time ago. Disenfranchising a huge section of the population(even more than it is now) will not serve us any better in my opinion. The percentage of that segment of the population who actually use their right to vote is minor anyway.

We need accountability of public officials, that's for damn sure. But guess what, most of society isn't accountable for their own action. Just look at all the lawsuit out there, fat folks saying it's the restaurants fault, smokers after the tobacco industry, crooks after the gun manufacturers. It's never anybody fault, as to be somebody else's fault. How can we ask for something we do not consider important enough to do ourselves?

Politicians comes from American parents, American schools, American universities, American society and are elected by Americans. This is what WE produce folks, WE put them there and WE keep them there. Those are the kind of leaders WE are producing! Scary isn't it?

I think we need to start looking closer to home for a change.

Let's just be grateful that now the highest bidders are corporations and not the Chinese government... ... ...

Glenn

Glenn, I see your point. I believe there is one main reason that people are content to let the gov't take over more and more of their lives, and you have found it-- no one wants to be responsible for themselves.

By giving up all your freedom (and accompanying responsibility, since you can't have one without the other), you can always blame someone else (like the gov't) instead of yourself.

My proposal WOULD net some good, though. The people who don't pay taxes are usually poor enough to be that way because they have decided they want to live the life I described above-- the surrender their freedoms so they can blame someone else when life doesn't go so well. YET, since they can vote, they are able to extort money from the gov't which allows them to avoid the natural consequences of either laziness or lack of motivation and ambition.

If we restore the connection between decision and consequence by removing gov't welfare safety barriers, then we will set an example that says YOU ALONE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS!

The only way to restore that connection is to take away their voting privlege. It IS a privilege to vote, not a right, if you don't pay taxes. You EARN the right to vote by paying taxes. You don't have to pay a ton of taxes, but paying none at all means you shouldn't be voting.

HOHN

OK then, I'll compromise LOL. If you are living and the goverment's dime, you can't vote. Fair enough?

I do think think as a civilized society we should have a safety net net for the less fortunate ones that are down on there luck. Obviously the current system isn't it! Maybe some type of temporary help in exchange for labor or something. Definetly not "free" money. But then again what do I know... ... ...

A free and responsible society? Won't hold my breath but I'll glady do my part.

Glenn:)
