Guns, Bows, Shooting Sports, and Hunting Want to get shot

In February I secured a half acre in South Fork CO with all utilities. Unless I find another lot that I like more I will build my vacation home which will ultimately be my retirement home. I really love the area and the weather. I am looking forward to no more sweltering summers. It does get cold and there is alot of snow but, I can handle that. Bad thing is I have about seventeen years till I can retire, I think I can tough it out.

I plan on paying the lot off in about four years then build. One reason why I am hanging on to my second gen. as long as I can. Planning on not having a mortgage or very little left of one when I finally retire. Will be nice to have a vacation home in the mean time. I took the first two pictures looking toward the back and the third is looking forward. In the winter time mule deer are roaming all over the place, what a sight to see.

Congratulations!!!

Colorado is nice, went out there many years ago.

I, however want to retire where snow and ice are nothing but bad memories... :-laf

Actually, if I didn't have to drive 125 miles a day in it I might not mind it quite so bad.

Mike. :)

I believe not having a mortgage is key. We sold our longtime home (for 25+ years) and moved about 1/2 mile away in a smaller brick, low maintenance ranch 4 years ago in prep for retirement. We downsized so no mortgage. Oo. The money we pocketed will fund our first 2 years or so because I am retiring before I can draw out SS (if there even is any left) or from my meager IR pension.

The house will sit unoccupied for a couple of years as we cruise the inland waterways on our boat. Then who knows.

You wont regret having the land to vacation on. And when retirement time comes it's OOO so much sweeter. Congrats South Central Co is nice

Thank you. I decided a couple years ago I do not want to retire here in Texas. When I retire I want to get out and enjoy things not dread going outside in the summer time. Be a nice summer home for the folks as well, I know they will enjoy it. Yes, it does get cold and there is alot of snow but, for a few months out of the year I can handle it.

Like I told some visitors this summer from Ca. they talked about the snow and the cold. I say its call RETIREMENT if it gets that bad ill have to strain, but ill get out of the easy chair and toss on another log. Trust me the rest of the time you have to put in at work to get to the retirement point is MORE THAN WORTH IT
