After reading the lastest news regarding the future of diesel in the world of transportation (Diesel Technology Forum), they mentioned retrofitting of existing engines, (by 2007). In one section the recommendation was, instead of rebuilding your current engine (CTD) it would be responsible to retrofit with the latest technologically advanced replacement available. Okay, after all that... Anyone know if a 2003 HO CTD can fit under the hood of my First Generation Truck? Trick motor mounts, or something Mopar? Could I just transplant a engine and transmission? What about the rear axle, could it handle the HO power? If all continues as planned, I want to go a few more hundred-thousand miles on the engine under my hood right now. But, I can dream and plan for the future... Is this BOMBING?

Happy Holidays everyone, Rattle Responsibly, Patrick.

Maybe his ECM is shorted out

His Exceptionally Clouded Mind???????????

Sorry, I couldn't resist the temptation :p... ... ... ... ... .

All in fun,Patrick... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

Hey, look at the bright side. Pastor could have docked you some pretty serious HP! Blasphemy I believe it's called.

Ok, if we're talking the most technologically advanced replacement available, this is a GREAT excuse for Mach II EDMs (increased atomization, cleaner burn) Stage 2 ported head from PDR et al, HX40 or maybe twins, 4" exhaust, ATS manifold, etc. See my wish list in the truck list thread. I bet this combo would take you up at least two emission tiers, and for half the cost of a new engine. THe line about being "responsible" is for the EnviroNazi kooks sponsoring the magazine. A rebuilt engine to even 1991 standards is cleaner than an original '83 6. 2, 6. 9, or a smoke bomb minivan.

Latest emission standards= lower MPGs, torque. Notice how power has increased 95%, but torque only 35%? Latest technology= electronics, which is almost a 3x four letter word

Are these the people who burn SUV's in hopes to save the Earth when in reality pollute the atmosphere ten X's more with burning tires/plastic/upholstery???

And all those little plastic fake corks from their preppy wines!

Ouch guys!!!! Shoot the messenger and pass the meds!

Patrick is being RESPONSIBLE (darn 4 letter word) in reporting the public perception that TECHNOLGY (bad 4 letter word) is a good thing for the masses and you have crucified him on the Altar of Acronyms! Shame!!:D :D :D

A better pursuit would be to question the motives of the clown suggesting it would be RESPONSIBLE to replace rather than rebuild thereby supporting the blasphemy of Stea... . errr... Dealership.

Pastor! Quickly, a sermon on the evils of Drive By Wire!:)

Truth, said article bodes no good. Soon comes a time I shall not be remote enough the MAN will tap upon my shoulder and sayeth "Thou shalt not smoke".
