Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Retrofitting 6.7 intake to 2nd Gen

I thought I saw someone comment in a thread not long ago about retrofitting an intake off a 6.7 into a 2nd Gen especially if you don't have a passenger side battery. Since I only run one battery I'm interested in doing this on my '98.5. Does anyone have information about it? Does it fit very well? I like the idea of drawing air from where it enters the grille versus the back of the engine bay. I prefer running paper air filters and the 6.7 has a higher CFM rating than the 2nd Gen airbox.
