I finally finished getting the bumpers installed and wired. They sure make a quality, HEAVY product. It took 4 guys and a floor jack to get the front installed... . over 500lbs with the WARN 12K. The rear is around 175lbs. It took longer to get all the lights and relays wired then it did to hang the bumpers. Everything lined up and worked perfectly. The GE 4522 landing lights are BRIGHT. The lower lights are PIAS as are the rears. REUNEL makes a very nice Bumper for the Dodge trucks as well... . CJ

CJ,

Can you give us a price range for that bumper? And how about shipping? I live in the Pacific Northwest, shipping will probably kill us.

Good looking truck CJ!

I like that burnt orange, the first production vehicle I can remember with that color was the IROC in the late 80's - early 90's.

CJ. . WOW shows deep pride in ownership. .

you Texas boys need to get CJ in your TDR functions !! anyone that builds 'em like that needs some respect . .

The bumpers are pricey, but the PIA's have a lot to do with it. The Dodge is $880. 00 for the bumper, and $425. 00 for the grille guard. The PIA's are $325. 00 installed. The rear is $425. 00 for the bumper, $90. 00 for the bolt on hitch and $175. 00 for the PIA's. They painted if for free with both being purchased at the same time. Shipping from CA. to Arlington was $127. 00 dollar VIA a bigrig. The total for mine to the door was right at $2700. 00. I am not a fan of Diamond Plate which most seem to be made out of so I went with the Reunels. I bought the relays and switches from Painless wiring via Summit. Reunel has a website listed below which is really not that informative. If you call and ask for your application they will mail you a ton of info with a bunch of pictures with your specified truck carrying their bumpers around.

A Dodge or Ford frame is plenty capable of carrying any aftermarket bumper around on it. I do have replacement front springs. The factory 2 leafs were replaced with a 2. 5 inch lifted version by Rancho which has nine leafs. The front did not drop ONE bit when the bumper and winch was added. I would suggest a spring upgrade on a Dodge as well in order to carry an additional 500+lbs on the very nose of the truck.

I did attend a local Cummins gathering last month. I believe it will be this Saturday. I will likely go again... . CJ

Hey COBRAJET, that's one awesome looking pair of bumpers. In my opinion, the Reunels look quite a bit nicer on the Super Duty than on the Ram.

... . that color match looks sweet.

Hey Cobrajet, if your not busy the 21st, your welcome to meet up with us in Houston. Details in the Events section. Truck looks great, what's the tugboat plate refer to?

Pete,
I rotate the fronts to the back every 10K. It costs about $50. 00 each time since they have to bust four tires down and rebalance. I found a place to do it for $30. 00 the last time. The Fords have three different rims on the DRW. They will all fit anywhere but they have a different finish. The inner rears are just grey utility type. The other 4 are finished aluminum but they are not finished on the inside. The inner rears always have the white wall out so it can not be seen from the back... CJ

That is one cool looking truck! Have you had it on the scales with the new bumpers? I was suprised at how much my truck weighed. My 3500 SC 4X4 ETH/DEE full of fuel and propane tipped the scales at 8230 with my big butt behind the wheel.

abledog,
It weighed around 8550lbs with the shell, full of fuel, a few odds and ends and myself. 9K would seem real close right now. The factory bumpers didn't weigh 100lbs between them... CJ

NINE K CJ?

ONE TRUCK ON THE SCALES AT A TIME PLEEZ!

jk

Awesome Rig...

Glad to see the something other than ranchhand front end replacements running around Texas. (not to imply anything wrong w/ RH bumpers, they're just REAL COMMON in their home state. )

Gitchesum, Cobra's SD is the largest light truck on the road, weighing in at over 9k... hence, tug boat (boat, land yacht etc. ).

The truck weighed 9220 on the scales today. That is full of fuel, an empty bed, with the shell and one driver... 240lbs. The truck weighed right under 8K when it was new with nothing on it. Now it has heavy bumpers, a shell, much heavier suspension, larger exhaust and who knows what else. The thing is heavy... CJ
