The converter kicks in when I set in Reverse, and on a flat sufrace the vehicle can be set in motion, but very very weak. No chance for reverse uphills! It has 111 000 Miles. What can cause this? Just bought the truck btw. Can it be just to adjust the bands, if so which one, and can it be done from the outside? Howto adjust these bands?

A guy said it could be as simple as an clogged oilfilter... ? Another said it could be that the overdrive had come on incorrect(Had it off to weld a crack in the housing between transfer and OD) But this is hard to belive, it was pretty staight forward.

Hope anyone has some ideas... would be thankful!!!

This may have nothing to do with your problem but here goes. When I got my transmission redone at DTT when they finished the techs told me to make sure that when putting it in drive to make sure it was in drive and not just mostly or partly in as that would cause reverse to run at the same time and burn it up. When I was leaving Bill went over several things and also told me the same thing. I have to admit I dont recall the parts he named that would be affected but he definitely did say that reverse could be burnt up by not making sure that it was in drive (which could include to mean that the selector was in drive but the linkage was off inside the trans). Someone told me how to check the linkage to make sure it was right but I dont remember who or how. Might be worth a call to them or another trans shop. I did not ask if this just pertained to DTT trans or all of them.
