I have been considering installing a Reverse Obstacle Sensing System on my truck but not too sure what's good and what's not. Anyone have nay experience with these systems and what did product did you use?

Thanks,

Hate to say it... Check out the Phord's

Rode in a spankin new Phord the other day, and they did it right. There is 4 sensor's in the bumper, and no matter what angle you back up it picks it up right away. It beeps faster the closer you get, and when it quits you can't hardly put your hand between the bumper and whatever you backed up to. Make sure it has an ON/OFF switch you you can turn it off for towing. Not much help for picking an aftermarket system, but thought it may help with what to look for.

A gizmo like that could have saved me from backing into a black Jetta on a dark foggy night and costing me $911 for the dent I put in the door. Sad thing was I was going less than 1mph when I tagged it. In fact I almost didn't notice I had bumped into something  Good thing I wasn't going 2mph or it would've really been expensive

My father's 750iL has this system and it works well. The caveat is that it only senses things (ie bumpers, walls, etc... ) that are at the same height (+/- a few inches)... so you may need to locate the sensors below the bumper (if you have a 4X4)

My dad almost smacked his trunk lid on my pre-runner style bumper. If you install one, be mindful that you don't have your drop-hitch installed and forget about it. That "car-catcher" can do some serious damage as well!

I guess the point is not to let the electronics take over your own common sense (brain)!;)

I have the one from Geno's and it stays on too much. When I shift into reverse it almost always says 2' on right. Anybody have some suggestions ?
