"Reverse"

Anyone having trouble finding reverse with a NV 4500? This is turning into a real *itch sometimes. Getting into 1st can be difficult also. 98. 5 with only 36k miles on it. Thanks for the help

Reverse and first

I have the same problem on occasion. If it will not go in, I let the pedal out all the way and push it back to the floor fast. It will go in without a problem. 90K miles on stock clutch, problem has been random for the past 20k. No other clutch problems. One of those things I can live with until it needs upgraded

Occasionally, more so when it's cold out. I believe that 1st and reverse do not have synchro (sp) so it's a matter of gear mesh alignment. It seems to slide right into gear when it's rolling ever so slightly forward or back. If parked on a flat a double clutch will take care of most of the time and a triple clutch occasionally.

I dont have a NV-4500 but both my NV-3500's take a couple of tries to get into rev or first if standing still, my NV-5600 does the same thing once in a while too. I only have to go back to nuetral and then back into gear, sounds like you might have a bigger problem.
