Revised Model Lift Pump 1998 - 2002

Just got info on the revised model lift pump for all 1998 - 2002. Mopar Part Number: 5080885AA. Can anybody verify if this is true? Did the search but can't find it!

That number is correct. It comes with the wiring pigtail to reach.

Does this new part solve/reduce failure rate of the lift pump on the 24v? I already lost one... got lucky it didnt take the VP-44 with it. Any input would be appreciated.

That's the latest rev of the pump but it's at least 2 1/2 years old - so in other words no it doesn't solve the problems. Here's a thread from august 2001 where a guy got that part number - https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22974 .

Thats right Steve. I average about 2 of those pumps a week. I am way ahead of schedule this week. 2 today and it is only Monday.

I havent seen any failures yet on 03 or 04s.

Thanks for the info. Ebay is selling this fuel lift pump, but now I'm thinking FASS.

Be very sure of what you are buying when it comes to lift pumps on E-bay. I came across one and e-mailed the seller to ask for more info ( the part # didn't match any info I had) on the "said" lift pump and got no reply. I later found out that the lift pumps he was selling were recalled units. The part # in question I believe ended with AC instead of AA. Good luck Phil
