I have looked at many of the lift messages concerning the 4X2 lifting. I currently have the Daystar 2" spacers. I was under the impression that Skyjackers D25 coil springs would give the truck a smoother ride. I thought they would fit in a 4X2. They sure are much bigger. Can someone with expertise is this area let me know for sure if the skyjacker D25 can fit into a 4X2 2500. I really would appreciate the information.

thanks,

Bob Caldwell

If the D25 are for a 4x4, there is no way they will fit. The diameter is much larger thatn the 2wd spring. the 4wd is mush longer also. If I remember, the overall uncompressed length of the 2wd spring is about 13 inches.

When I lifted my 2wd v-10, I went witht aset of custom springs from Valley springs In ?, CA

d25 skyjackers on 2WD

After hearing the one comment, that the D25 skyjacker is NOT made to go on the front of a 2WD dodge- could someone else let me know if they have attempted this or if this just not a fit regardless of compressing the springs etc. I know that there were some comments on leveling 2WD with used 4WD front coil springs. Is this the same???

I was under the same impression regarding using 4x4 springs in a 2wd. It will not work! I think this is a rumor that needs to be laid to rest. I tried it as have others. I found only one person claim that it did actually work. How can this be? It either does or it doesn't. I tried and it didn't.

Hope this saves you some aggrivation,

Jeff

2WD lift answers

Thanks,

There really seems to be alot of misinformation on this topic. I really appreciate the answer. After the D25 Skyjacker thing I was going to try the used 4X4 springs.

The reason some people can use 4wd springs in a 2wd is that if it is a cab/chassis 2wd, they use the same springs. The cab/chassis combo uses a straight beam axle and the 4wd springs. where as the regular 2wd uses the cnventional control arms.
