Guns, Bows, Shooting Sports, and Hunting Revolver speedloaders: Safariland vs HKS...?

Does anyone have an opinion on the SafariLand loaders?



I have used the HKS but am not familiar with the SL's.



Any opinions?

I have used both years ago and preferred the HKS. The Safariland uses a spring around the loader, and a "push" to release. The HKS just seemed "simpler" and easier to use for me, and I never had a problem with them.

I found that the cartridges rattled in the HKS. Much preferred the SafariLand.

5 star. A little pricey but worth it. imho

Back is the late '80's, I was pretty serious about shooting & was taking Defensive Handgun classes. I would buy reloads 1000 at a time & a lot of those rounds went through the speedloader. I used the Safariland brand & as I recall, they worked well. I don't remember any problems. Never tried the other brand.



Boy, I really miss all that shooting. It was fun & I got pretty good at it. Surprised me!!! I was nowhere near the best but, better than I ever expected to be.



Reminds me of a story. I was on the far N/E side of Phoenix, AZ. at the Verde River, as were many other folks, & a couple of drunks started giving me a bit of a hard time. I'm a smaller guy (5'-6") but when I got out of the truck with my S&W, Model 66 with a couple of speedloaders attached to my belt, I never had to say or do a thing. The weapon said it all. I was prepared for trouble like I was taught in the shooting classes. The desert can be a dangerous place if you are not ready for trouble. Never know when it's going to happen.

I have the HKS 29 for for my 44 Colt Anacanda. Works alright, but I have never found a need for speed when plunking (I usually load by hand).
