I finally got around to having the botom of the truck Rhino-lined! I like it A LOT! finally no more rust AND they sprayed the inside of the rear bumper for me too! (we all know they rust out after awhile) I went with the UV topcoat which makes it look like paint pretty much and wont dull.

I went with Rhino since it was closer and cheaper than Line-X BUT I would have loved to put Line-X on instead but there was a 300 difference in price so you can see my reason why to go rhino.

Oh yeah I installed Towing mirrors too:)

Here are some pics!

(Note its filthy so Ill get more pics after its detailed!)

Any reason you didn't do it in silver instead? I think that's what I'm going to do on mine. (mine's metallic red and silver on the bottom)

I like it.

I have been thinking about doing this too. How much, if any, rust did you have on the infamous door bottoms? I have some and paint is starting to bubble. How much work, if any would I have to do prior to rhino/line-x on the doors/rockers with the rust there. Strip and prime? or what?

Did you get the door sills done too (u know where boots/shoes remove the paint sliding in and out)? Any interference with the door closing? What about under the door bottoms (where u can only see if on your back under open door, but rusts too)?

Thanks,

J-

Looks good, I am going to get the same done to my truck, just haven't got around to it yet. You mentioned it was 300 less than linex, how much was it total, if you don't mind? Linex quoted me 800! Rhinoliner quoted me 250, but I moved since then and the 2. 5 hours drive would be worth it I don't think. Let us know how it hold up in the long run.

getting the same thing done tomorrow... will post a few picks

i was quoted $225 ... . a shop in burlington wanted 300 just to do the bumper. . go figure

Thanks guys

It was $425 out the door as long as I pulled the bumper and Mudflaps which took me about a hour. They sprayed the back of the bumper which I didnt expect! I didnt do any prep to the body itself, I currently dont have any door rot issues (knock on wood) other than some slight surface on the inside of the door.

they didnt spray IN the cab but the overspray it looks like covered up the "shoe skid" issue that I had like youre talking about, Ill post a couple more pics tomorrow.

I didnt like the silver due to going from a SLT to a "sport" so I thought it would look better. and I never was a fan of the color anyways. when I bought the truck it didnt have mud flaps and was pretty torn up from stone ships and the silver turned to brown from slight surface rust

Hmmm. .

It must be nice and it does look nice also.

I have went to both of the Rhino dealers here in the Harrisburg area and the one in York and none would spray the rockers. I even went as far as emailing Rhino about it and as of this post I have recieved no response and it has been two weeks... ..... Andy

Looks good

Ian, I had my rockers sprayed with Line-x 3 years and love it. It protects againist stone chips and cornstalks during fall harvest. I did not get the paint looking finish, but have found that tire foam blackens it up real well. You going to Indy this weekend, if so I will see you there.

Justin Hope to see you there!!

I dont know if the 01 will be up for the trip or not, Im waiting on injectors that should be here thrusday... I hope but either way Ill be in Indy!

Hammer, I think there is a guy up here in Schaefferstown that sprays Rhino Liner. Maybe he would do your rockers. I can try and get a phone # for ya if you want.

In Boise, Rhino wanted $850 and LineX wanted $1000 to do the sides

Thats what I'm saying! I had a rhinolining place tell me 250 and the Linex place tell me 850. Too bad the cheaper is too far away now:( Guess I'll do it myself sometime down the road... .

judus preist this is getting to be like the price of fuel!

so far out of the quotes it seems as if each shop has there own price but I still can see why they want soooo much! 1000 thats just robery! I know I know its more to tape off but come on 1000!!!

I looked into this when my truck was new, the Line-X guy was straight up and said the work involved with prep was so costly that he would not do it. He said to do it right everything has to be sanded and roughed up. Any rust has to be removed. Then if you want the door sills done they have to tape off the inside of the cab. He said if I did all the prep sanding and such he could do it for $800. The rhino guy here in AK wanted double that to spray the bed so I did not even go talk to him about it.

I still plan on having this done eventually but its down the list a ways.

Price

When I had mine done it cost me 375. 00 here in Fort Wayne on a quad cab short bed. Granted that was 3 years ago, and I haven't priced it since. I wouldn't have done the Line-x or Rhino for some of the prices you guys have been quoted.

When you guys are talking prices, keep in mind that the price will vary depending on the cab length (reg, extended, crew) and bed length (short bed, long bed).
