Rhino or Line-X????

Hands down, Line-X for me.



A company I used to work for had a couple trucks of Rhino and a couple with Line-X. FWIW - The Line-X held up a much better.

After I installed the Line-X I also placed a heavy rubber bed matt in the bed. That gives me an extra cushion.

DAMN thats a hella of deal, all the Line X dealers around me want any where from $475 to $525 to do a truck.

Dow Corning used rhino on its maintenance trucks. Tough stuff but beds still get bent. I used Line X in my past Chevy pickup. It looked better and had the same if not better skid resistance. Dents are still problematic. I would go with linex because it just looks betters for the same kind of protection and it only takes an hour to apply unlike rhino which requires eight hours to cure/. .

Well I did it. Line-X it is! It was a 3 hour process and the Dealer answered all my concerns without any tap dancing. An extremely knowledgeable guy. He did a beautiful job. I'm sure I made the right decision but only time will tell. It is a nationwide warranty and if I have any problems whatsoever I"m to bring it back and he will do whatever it takes to make it right. I don't think I can be any happier right now. Definately going to recommend this guy to my friends. I even ended up with a Line-X ball cap. With your help I just got my $35 membership to TDR back in Knowledge shared. Thanks guys! Oh, The Line-X Dealer I used in Columbus is on Huntley Road.

My Line-X cost $449 Plus $50 for over the Rail. I did get a $20 off coupon from the Line-X web site so when it was all said and done it was a little over $500 with tax. But don't forget, I did get the Ball cap. I'm happy with the job so thats what really counts. Take a look:#ad

Just to add my observation regarding Line-X. I've had the Line-X since the beginning and this bed has carried just about everything you can think of. The liner has never chipped.



I'm not knocking the Rhino liners. I know many folks who are very happy with the Rhino.



All I can say is that I consider my Line-X an excellent investment and it's proven to take an extreme punishment without any defects!

Well either product is only as good as the guy spraying it! I am the victim of a POOR job. I got the rhino liner and I HATE it! I don't think it was preped right before they sprayed it. In some places it will peel very easily and others not so much. Ya, you could say, but it's warrented against failure, but what the hell do you do with the mess thats already there! And in the case of rhino, it's the dealer, not the manufacturer that warrentees it. So do you really want that same hack chiseling it out and doing it over?

Also I don't like the fact that the rhino is grippy. My truck is lifted, and I am short , so when I put tools in the back of my truck, which is many times a day, I have to jump up in the truck because I can't slide them. I just put a deposit on an 05 Dodge and I doubt I will get another spray in liner, but if I did, it would be Linex. I'm going to keep it simple this time, a sheet of 3/4" cdx plywood will do just as well!

I have absolutely "No" problem sliding any thing on the Line-X. I acutally think cargo would slide easier on the Line-X than plywood. Plywood has a softer surface. Depending on what you're carrying, it could dig in to the grain of the wood when you try and slide.



Just my thoughts and observations.

Catoiler, that's a heck of a deal. I paid $420 over the rails. One thing I notice from your picture, and that my line-x installer pointed out as a strong point of his installs, is that some installers do not spray down between the tailgage and the bed. I can see the red paint on yours, and you might want to take it back and have them finish the job properly. The reason being is as you all know when water is in the bed it runs down the back and will pool/collect in that area between the bed and tailgate. . which is one of the first areas beds rust etc. Just a fyi.



There sure seems to be a big difference in installer quality. I had my original line-x done in Brandon, FL before moving up here. The job was sub-par, although I didn't know any better and was totally happy with it. My truck was hit in a parking lot recently, and required a new right bedside. Therefore they did the entire bed over, and the guy up here in Streetsboro, OH really takes his time and cares about quality. This time it's fantastic, and I had the aux tank/toolbox sprayed too, which looks great.

Just one more opinion, had a Rhino in my '98 Ram 1500 gasser, I'm a shrimper, hauled god only knows how much steel, nets, wood, and iced shrimp (read SALT) for the

6. 5 years I had the truck and it looked darn good when I sold it. I can't say one or the other is better, and the installer would surely make a difference, but I got the Rhino in this '03 3500.
