Folks,
My RHR in my 2011 Laramie has started to act up. Over the past 6 months it has started to loose the preset satellite channel memory (resets some or all presets to Ch 184). The volume control also goes away once in a while when streaming from bluetooth (from both android and iPhone). The AM reception on the RHR has always been iffy, but now it is non-existent. Is it time I bite the bullet and replace the unit or can I fix this with a software update? If I need to replace, any suggestions on a head unit that works with the factory alpine amp, sub and doesn't sacrifice sound quality? I don't really need the nav as I use google maps or waze. I could use a set compatible with android auto, but I am not sure that tech is solid enough for daily use.

Thoughts?
Thx, Des

How old ae your batteries?? The first thing to act up when you have batteries going south, is the radio. Get them load tested.

The radio was the "canary in the coal mine" for me, it started acting up and the batteries died a few months later.

Thanks, gents. I just changed the batteries 3 months ago and tested them again this afternoon. They showed good......unless one has a short and it is not showing up. Dang gremlins.

Did you test the batteries separately? This is the only way to insure that you do not have a bad battery! Have you checked your grounds wires for the batteries and your main battery cables. Sometimes these connections could also cause electrically issues too. Make sure everything is clean and tight using DIE-ELECTRIC Grease on your battery terminals.
Just another suggestion.
OR just go buy aftermarket radio and call this your Christmas present!

Jim, yes they were disconnected and tested separately, and there was no corrosion. All was clean. It is funny they way the radio acts, it will keep the memory for a while, then it seems to go thru spells of not retaining the presets, then it will go weeks again with no problem. Thanks for the info Ozy - I will take a look at the u-connect page.
