Looking sweet :D Could you possibly post a pic or two of the steel Ricksons'? I am seriously wanting a set or 19. 5's, but at $200 a wheel difference, I'm leaning towards the steel wheels.

Thanks,

Tom

Tom - see TDR magazine #34 page 117. FWIW, I just turned 50k miles and the tread is half worn down evenly all around on all 6 tires. I reckon another 40k+ miles and it'll be time for a retread giving me more than 100k miles for each tire. :D as per the Rickson advertising blurb. No complaints here!!

Thanks John, I'll see if I can dig up that issue, if I was even a member when it came out...

I have been following your various threads on the 19. 5 wheels & tires with great interest. Thanks for all the info you've shared since getting them.

So John, are you getting the "new" production run UTE? Find a good rear bumper yet?

-bruce.

Hi Bruce - you're on the ball as ever :D Well, yes I believe I am on the "new" production run from UTE - I spoke with Randy Cryer (aka UteMan) in the Pacific North West and agreed to go with sea-freight which was one third the cost of air freight (both consolidated shipments !). I figured, after having waiting this long, what's another month or so... .

Now get this... . and I absolutely insist you hold me to this - when the UTE arrives, I will be taking a load of digital pictures before, during and after the install is complete - to post here on the TDR website and also to submit to the TDR quarterly magazine - honest!!! As regards the rear bumper, I'm down to a shortlist, but as always it's a real compromise when it comes to aftermarket rear bumpers to fit a dually and retain my class 5 receiver/hitch set-up - most come with a class 4 configuration all built-in... . I may even end up getting a rear bumper fabricated to match the front UTE - it doesn't seem highly likely that the Oz factory is going to make a rear, matching item - pity!!

I have a provisional install date set for end October/early November for the front UTE. I'll PM you with a sneak preview of the install article so you can critique it before it is disseminated to the wider TDR membership..... :D
