Chuckle chuckle, there is always something to improve on every vehicle.

Tires come first since mine are going to wear out in a few months or so.

Short shifter will come, might wait for a group buy or something though since that makes for a good excuse.

Unless I think of a better excuse.

19.5" Rickson wheels, Hankook tires mileage report

First tank of fuel hand-calculated since installing the new tires 'n' wheels: 19. 9 mpgs. It's probably safe to say there's no change one way or 'tother - I've been getting between 19. 8 and 20. 3 every time I refueled anyway. I'm happy; just didn't want the mileage to go down w/the heavier tires/wheels. Now, if only I'd bought the lighter aluminum wheels ... Nah, too much money.

On the second tank I will run 85 lbs of air in the tires instead of 75 to see if that makes enough of a difference to justify the harsher ride. Actually, it isn't that much harsher, certainly not what the 110 lb maximum would be like.

I have almost 102K on my Mich XDE MS's. Probably 15-20K left.

Now if I could just get a response from Rickson about some sims. The powder coating is coming off in chunks.

Love mine, ride and handle are much improved and it takes away the smaller irritating bumps :) . I went with the Khumo(sp) tires and I'm very pleased, good wet traction and they are pretty quiet, I dont even notice the "sing" unless I'm coasting with the window down. Even still I have to listen for it.

Did you have to lift the front end to get those 19. 5 on there. I am looking at the aluminum wheels #81 with the mud and snow tires at 265 maybe 285. Are there any mods I would need to do. Besides parting with about 4,000 bucks without the wife finding out.

Regarding Fireman's Q'n, no mods are required with the 19. 5s and up to 245 70R 19. 5s, but what about the 265s on a 3rd gen truck? Anybody know if you have to do a level lift or trimming to avoid rubbing with 265 Hankooks?

I can tell you this: my cousin has the Rickson Eliminators with Michelin XDE2+'s in a 265, 2nd gen truck ('94) and they rub only a TINY BIT, and even then, it's at lock up, and only on his front mud flap, just behind the front tire. No impact whatsoever.
