I am installing a Firestone Ride Rite air spring for the rear on my 03. I also got the compressor package and in cab control kit. Where are you installing the compressor and air tank? I have a jake, an Espar and the AFE stage 2 intake so there isn't a lot of places left under hood. I was looking under the truck but I run a lot of gravel roads plus snow and salt in the winter. I am impressed with the air bag mounting. It is much improved over the system for my old 94. Any ideas appreciated.

On one of my trucks I mounted the air compressor where the ECM for the auto transmission would mount..... passenger side fire wall... there are 3 dimples that I punched out and made a mounting plate...

On my 04, and newer trucks I used the pacbrake mounting plate above the injection pump, and put the air tank under the floor on the drivers side of the frame... ...

We also mounted the air horns behind the front bumper... .

Watch the mounts for the air bags..... on my 3 trucks we found that the brackets for the air bags were not built well enough and we had I think the drivers side give us problems..... we had to reinforce them after 15000 miles or so... ... . we use the air bags to level the load and often have them at full pressure... ...

We later built a 2x2 square tube, 3" long and extended the bumper for the overloads so they would touch and come into play as the truck was loaded... With the air bags the overloads never touched on our 4x4 dually's... ...

Hope this helps...

i was thinking about getting a set for my truck ,just wondering if you have looked at how the brackets mount, does it mount to the frame and springs or to the frame and axle. bought a set for an 03 chevy a few years back , never installed them, bracket installed to rear axle and it was bogus. any info would be appreciated.

I have installed the kit. The brackets mount to the frame and axle inboard of the springs. You remove the jounce stops and bolt the top bracket into the existing holes. The bottom bracket fits in between the spring bolts and clamps around the axle.

Installing the actual air bags was easy and straight forward. Finding a suitable place for the compressor and air tank is a problem. Under hood is pretty busy. The firewall on the passenger side as suggested above is to good as the actuator for the Jake takes up space. I also run a lot of snow/salt in the winter so I want to try and keeps things out of those elements. I bought the kits from a local business who gets most of these accessories from Grand West.

I had to grind the brackets to make them fit around the leaf springs. No biggie.

If you get under the driver side at the fuel filler-neck, you will see a vast expanse of sheet-metal on the front side of the bed. Next to that on the frame is a bed bracket that makes a sort of pocket with a bolt-hole in the top. You can mount the compressor on the sheet metal or in that little pocket with a home-made bracket.
