Ridiculously long warm up time / heat

Block heater will definitely help warmup time. I'm pretty busy and find this to be a pain on a regular basis - not to mention adding to my utility bill. Without exaggeration, it takes 8 miles for the guage to get half way and the air is only luke warm. Got my truck in early April and we actually had snow here in NJ a week or 2 later, but I don't recall hearing the high idle. I'm sure this will help.

Mine takes a long time to move the guage, maybe I should tape it over and just see if I have heat out of the cab vents. I think Dodge's guages are real and some read false,like Ford. I know Ford's oil pressure gauge is fake, maybe their temp. guage is funky too.
