i have 03 quad cab 4x4 and i was wondering what size tires and rims i can run with a 2 inch leveling kit in the front. i would like to run 17x10 with 35 inch tire with some offset on the rims. just wanted to know what other people were doing? thanx

I have seen lots of 2500's and 3500's running around with 35" tires with a leveling kit on both stock and aftermarket rims. The thing that you have to keep in mind with aftermarket, wider rims is the proper backspacing. Also keep in mind that the wider rims with the proper backspacing is gonna move those tires further outside the fenders where they'll throw up rocks and road grime on your body. A set of fender flares and/or mudflaps will help with that.

Hope this helps!

i am running 315/70/17's on my 2wd with no leveling kit and minimal rubbing only at full lock and a wheel turned HARD bump... . should be fine on a 4x4 for the same situations since they sit about 2 inches higher... .

With stock rims 35s will rub a little bit on the control arms at full lock. If you have wheels that make the tire stick outside the wheel wells you will have to trim a little bit of the plastic airdam and mudflaps ( even with 33s).

I have an '05 qc 4x4 and want to run 35 x 12. 50's on 17x9's but I can only find them with 4. 625" back spacing on rims I like. How bad will these rub with the 2" leveling kit and what would I need to trim to prevent rubbing? Or would I be better off just using Hummer wheels?

I've got a leveling kit, Mickey Thompson 17x9 rims (4. 5" BS) and 35x12. 50 BFG MT on the 03. They rub on level pavement at full lock. The backspacing is the culprit. Something to consider.

Do they rub the fender or just the control arm or fender liner?

I hope that this info might help... I am currently running 33" x 12. 5" Mickey Thompson Baja Claws on my stock height 2500 4X4 with stock rims and have no rubbing issues thus far. I have done some medium to light off-roading with this combo and so far no problems. They do stick out further but my mud flaps keep everything looking good. The OEM rims I'm running are the aluminum ones... I'm not sure if the steel rims differ in dimension. As soon as I can free up some time I'll post a few pics of my truck and I'll throw in a close up of the tires in case anyone is curious.

Hey CMNS PWR, what do the tires actually rub on? Something that can be trimmed or modified? I really love the turning radius of my truck and don't want to sacrafice it.
