one of our brother members is selling 1 ton rims from a 98'.

I have a 90', need to know if they will bolt on my truck. Thanks in advance for any input. Bill.

To the best of my knowledge, I believe they would work just fine for you. As usual... if I'm wrong, someone will correct me.

93 and down center the rims on the lug nuts. 94 and up center the rims on the hub assy. You could have some problems there.



Also if you do not have dually drums on the rear of your truck. you will have problems with installing the correct set also. The dually rims have a centering bump on four of the lugs. On a non dually drum. These centering bumps will hold the rims away for the drum face. The non dually drums do not have the matching counter bore in them.



I'll get you a pic of the centering bumps on the rims. Tomorrow morning. I have a pair of rims dismounted right now.

thank you much, I was just on a web site for rims from Texas, they have different offsets also. As far as the drums go I remember when I did the rear brakes, I do believe I have the 350 drums. The pictures would be the final answer thanks again.

I'll get a pic of the centering bumps tomorrow. There are two different drums for the 350's. One has the counter bores. One doesn't. The 350 single tire does not have counter bores. My truck had a 350 single tire axle under it when I bought it. I found a 1/2" stack of 5/8's washers under my inside duals.

I also forgot. The axles are different width also. If you have a single tire axle. It will be 1 inch to narrow for a set of duals. The dually pickup axle is 6 inches wider. The cab and chassis axle is 3 inches wider than a single tire.

I better do a little more explaining. The axle widths are measured from brake backing plate mounting flange to mounting flange.



Single tire 51 inches

Cab and Chassis 56 inches

dually pickup 59 inches.



Now if you space the duals 1/2 on the single tire axle they will clear the springs. But you will need 6" blocks to raise the rear high enough that the bed inner lip on the wheel well does not cut the inside dual apart. It would track right down the center of the tire. If you try a C&C rear axle on the pickup bed. You have the same problem as the single tire axle.



I went threw this problem. So I do know the pit falls. Dodge does not have any dually axles left in stock. C&C or dually pickup. I tried to get one when I found my rear axle was bent.

I guess going to duallies wasn't a good idea. A friend of mine

just told me that a 1 ton and a 3/4 ton chasis are 3" different in width. Well if by some chance all those measurements work out,

better chance at winning the lotto, I'll consider duallies, but we all know I'm probably stuck with singles.

As far as I know the frames are the same width. If you look on a trailer hitch site you will find the 1 ton's do not list a different number fo the hitches.



All you need is a dually axle. But get ready they aren't cheap. If you need a 3:08 gear it gets a lot higher.



Now they do make adapters to go from single rear tires to dual rear tires. If you ask around here. There might be someone here using them. My thoughts on them. Not on my truck. If you have ever seen the damage done when a truck spits a set of duals off. You would not think of using them

What I think your Friend may be referring to, is the height of the frame, it was increased. I don't know what years or models.

Anyone running Eagle rims on a 1st gen dually?

They sell them by the bolt circle measurement.

They don't differentiate between 89-93 and 94-up.

Anyone??



One of my duals is badly bent so I would like to get these on the truck ASAP if they will work okay.

I am using a set of American racing rims on my truck. I don't know the bolt circle measurement. I bought these for a 72 Chevy C30 originally. If that helps you pin down the bolt measurement.



If you have a compass. Just go out and measure from the middle of the center cap to the middle of the lug nuts. Just move the compass as needed till you can spin a circle around the center of the nuts. Then lay a tape measure across the points and multiply by two and your set.

That's NOT what I am concerned about.

The question is the method used to center the rim.

I guess I'll get in touch with Eagle and see what they have to say.

If the AR's you bought for a Chevy fit your???? (Get a signature Phil) maybe the Eagles won't be a problem on my '92.

The rims off of my 72 Chevy C30 went right on this 93 W350 with no problems other than I had to change out the lug nuts. The Chevy used 9/16's dia studs. My W350 uses 5/8's studs. In August they will have been on this truck 5 years. I had them on the C30 for 4 years.

It does make a difference on the 94 to 93 model years. The offset is different and the way they center the rim. I would call them. If they give you the wrong rims after talking to a sales person. Then they should be liable of any damages that occur.
