Replace FASS with mechanical lift pump?

Have been trying to get my truck running right for sometime now at altitude. Had DD2's (nice), then EDM's Mach 2's (too much smoke, EGT's, MPG down), then EDM's Mach 1. 5 (still to much smoke, but less EGT's)-----------------------------------Then Don Morrison made me one last set.

They were suppose to be like stockers but with one more hole. These are absolutely amazing. Low end power is up, Smoke is almost non existant, EGT's are like stock and only top end power went down just a bit.

I say just a bit, because seat of the pants says the same. Don you are amazing, I got the best of all three worlds. Performance, low EGT's and since I lost a huge amount of Black Smoke I know fuel economy has to be about 2-3 more mpg.

I'm taking a long trip next week so I'll check the mpg's. Same trip on 1. 5's 19. 4 mpg. We'll see. Anyway, even if not better, I couldn't be happier with the way my truck is running.

Thanks again Rip for the sale and Thanks Don for working with me through all the injectors to get to these. WOW!!!!!!

Call Rip Rook, I'm sure that Don makes 3rd Gen's. Maybe Bob Wagner knows? If you do business with these two you won't be sorry.

Yes. Rip Rook sells them and Don Morrison builds them. Call Rip he'll set you straight. EDM's are an amazing injector.

I'm absolutly in love with the way my truck performes with Don's mach 1. 5's coupled with an Edge EZ. I easiy get 19 to 20 mpg in daily driving & around 25 mpg at a steady 65mph. The only thing that bothers me is how easy it is to lay a black smoke screen if I roll on the throttle to fast below 10psi boost. Rip offered to send me some mach 1's to try but I decided I'd just try to educate my foot instead. I'd really like to try a DDUPM. I'm thinking it's lower setting would solve the smoke issue.

Go backwards in fuel? :{ Am I the only one that got the shakes & blurry vision on that thought?

It may sound like going backward to you big time BOMBers but with my stock clutch I can't use all the fueling I have. I've never been around hot rodded diesels before & didn't know what to expect. Don't get me wrong, I love having more power than I use but I don't like black smoke. You will notice, I decided to keep the 1. 5's. I do slip up from time to time but I have learned to roll on the throttle slow enough to keep the black cloud down to a wisp. What really gets me Oo. is that I can keep ahead of the pack on the freeway & I'm still getting 3 to 4 mpg more than I did stock :D

Better MPG than DD2?

Are these EDMs getting better milage than DD2s and 275rv? Thats my only complaint of DD2s or maybe my right foot, I'm not sure:rolleyes:

I don't have any experience with DD2's r Bosch 275's so I can't comment on them. Don M. on his web site states that the 1. 5's are his best injectors for milage. Of course what's done with the right foot has a lot to do with one's individual results.

NO.

Add fuel until hot, then air to cool, REPEAT if/as necessary!

You CAN quote me. :D
