Bell WSB turbo housing upgrade.

Edge Comp pump wire

I have it, a little modified though. Straight piped, it is loud but I like it. Crusing isnt bad at all but you can make it bark easily.

I love Rip's systems but with a shorty and no muffler, it is LOUD! And if you have any kind of fueling enhancements you will be cleaning that right rear wheel quite a bit. If you must have the shorty, at least get it with a muffler.

How much louder are you talking about going from the Shorty to Standard. I have always liked the front of the wheel exit for many reasons, I have a cap on mine anyone thing that would make the noise a little more bearable?? I would run it with a muffler though if I did it that close or at least keep one around just in case.

How much louder? ALOT! It was almost unbearable (without a muffler) in my roomate's '02 HO, he ended up going to stacks. If you put a muffler on it I think it would be fine.

So the exit in front of the rear wheels is louder than the stacks are then, Tcolesanti? Also, is it just loud outside the truck, or loud in the cab, too? Thanks.

Chris

Chris,

Sorry I did'nt elaborate too much. With the windows up, the Shorty is'nt bad at all even without a muffler. Windows down, its really loud especially for the passenger. Quieter than stacks? Well that depends on how tall the stacks are and which style of stack you use. My roomate ended up running two 5' miter cut stacks that are about 4" taller than the cab. They are quieter than the Shorty system was all around, outside inside, windows up or down.

what did he happen to do with the shorty system i like it real loud i got my powerstroke straightpiped in front of the rear wheel and its not even near as loud as i want it to be

He cut it up, added to it to make a stack setup.

From the Driver's side the Shorty sounded great. From the passenger side my wife couldn't stand the whine of the turbo. If I don't keep her happy I won't be happy.

So, technically it was too noisy for you too huh? Just not to loud from the turbo but from the wife? :-laf :-laf :-laf

I wonder how the rips mufflerless 4 inch shorty, pdr hx 40, tst pm3 and 80 hp injectors sound on my 01 ho. Just ordered the exhaust and thinking about getting the turbo.

If your dumping much fuel your wheel will always be black. I had mine in front and loved the look but it really dulled my wheel. I switched to duals out the back. Every one told me not to do it and I did not listen. You will be cleaning your rim every 2-3 days.

A hx40 will make any exhaust system drone.

Yes your wheel will turn black, but I'm OK with only having 3 clean wheels. :-laf If you rotate your tires open it may be a condern.
