LaserBob here, when is anyone going to put the date of this meeting up ? I have read this thread twice and I must be blind today (not big news to some people) I like the idea of this meeting. Let me know... ... ... .

Stakeman, I've got one of ATS's trannys in my truck, so far it has been the best auto my truck has had in it. Both Don and Clint are good people and they will do what it takes to make a customer happy. Kevin.

I don't want to see people drop a lot of money into a transmission that is advertised to hold so much power... and then have major problems with it. I know from experience that a Milled Strator will not hold the power. So I don't want to see any RMTDR members spend over $800+ for a part that literally cost about $35. If you get my drift.



I don't want to see any of our members end up getting into a bad situation. Especially when it is something like the transmission.



I'm totally willing to hear these guys out... but I really think that Laser Bob needs to be there also (pending on if he can make it). Bob has a ton of experience on Bill's system and has a good understanding of how our trannys work. He would be a very valuable resource to have available. Again... I don't want to see anybody get into a sales pitch, buy a system then get screwed cause it can't hold the power. I sure can say that I'd be mad if that happened to me... .

You are making negative statements without facts, this has a tendency of making you look bad and making other people defensive. We would recommend that you stay with Bill C's stuff if you are happy with his product, also under stand that there are other people on the world that develop and test products. We have been working on the development of this transmission and torque converter combination for the Cummins Diesel for about three years now. Prior to this we have built custom racing transmissions and custom torque converters for very high torque-high horsepower racing and towing vehicles. We have also been building transmissions and torque converters “in house” for about ten years now. I’m sure you know that there are only a few companies in the US and Canada that actually build there transmissions and torque converters “in house”. This allows us to make changes to the package and all test information directly affects the total package. A little research into company background would put us at or near the top as far as that goes. One of the differences between us and the other guys are we have not saturated the market with advertisements. This does not mean one product is any better than the other, it just means we care about other members enough to be cretin that our product is fully tested and we are not in the business to sell enormous numbers of converters, this promotes quality problems. All we ask is there are no more negative comments about our products unless you have factual information! A little note about what you have written, you should know about products you write about. For example: look at what you have said about the word you call “strator”. You use this several times in your comments about us, for the record it is called a stator. Secondly if you or any one else would like to talk about stator design I would be delighted share any information I can on stall, torque multiplication or fluid coupling. Lets also clear something else up, we designed the new aluminum billet stator that is built for BD Power and also built a few test converters that Power Edge Products is using for high horse power. Lets also clear up that our converters for the 47-RE is tested to over 500 hp and 1361 foot pounds so lets get the facts before we make statements. A last comment about the torque converter, we offer several different stator combinations for our converters. There is no one design that will work in all applications, they must be custom built for the power application for the best result. The clutch in our torque converter is over-size, about 50 square inches and we build a billet steel cover. There has been lots of talk about pulling in lock up, I know that Bill believes in pulling in a fluid coupling. That is fine and his opinion. I do not agree that you should not pull in lock, I thank you should have the option of a fluid coupling or a direct mechanical lock-up, that is what our trans/valve body/converter package offers. Understand we have been building lock-up racing torque converters for years before the 47-RE came into the market. This is an extremely tested converter/transmission combination. As for as the strength of the components I have personally tested this package in my 1998 12-Valve for a little over a year now with no major changes. Anyone that knows me very well tells me that I can break an anvil, these products are severely tested. This truck runs a 14. 4 at 5,400 feet in four wheel drive and pulls a 35 foot fith-wheel just about every weekend. Extended testing is usually good proof.

Hey Clint, Nice to see you guys on board here at TDR. That was a very nice post, to bad you have to start your first post defending your company. Some people just dont get it, nor will they ever. It's to bad some people have to go through life with negative attitudes like you have seen on this site in last couple of days. I guess enough said, I for one am very happy with my ATS transmission that is in my diesel and also happy with the other trannys you have done for my company. Good luck with the battle.

That darn near makes me wish I had an A/T so I could take it to ATS! If they can do all that to a truck A/T, I bet they can build a good car A/T. Craig

Kevin thank you and all the other members for your help. We just want to make a 'positive' difference. We feel the auto and truck repair industry needs better service and quality. Our company was unable to buy the quality parts we wanted for our customers, so the best thing we could do was to make our own parts. We at ATS just want to say 'thanks' to our customers, vendors, and supporters. Special thanks to Rocky Mountain Cummins and the extra support that they have continued to give with customers sent to us with concerns on the service and repair of their Dodge Cummins Truck. Our company is working new systems that will give customers better power with lower emissions. This will give the ability for less lag time and more power using the fuel the engine already has. This product will be in the 'market' within day's. This is part of the air and injection system we use on my 2001 24 valve that was at Bandimere on the 29th. The truck is used as a daily driver and is being tested with very state of the art products that ATS is working on.

Thanks for the comments. We would be more than happy to set up a bad boy automatic transmission with a stall converter for your car and remove the manual transmission. Also there is so many people to thank I just Did not want to forget PDR Diesel Reaserch THANKS PIERS.

OK guys. That's not the way to thank a company that wants to help us out. Kevin and Jordan, you guys need to wait and see what they have to offer, before you make assumptions about their products.

I cannot stop any of you from speaking your mind,but I know that I will not comment on something that I know nothing about. I put this chapter together to bring Dodge diesel owners together. Not apart

Hey, quit pointing fingers.



I have DTT stuff and love it. I would love to find out that there is someone even better than Bill, and he is right here in Denver. (I am not holding my breath yet) I want this meeting to go forward and not get lost because of being worried that ATS may be better. If they are... ..... GREAT! Lets all go and see what the man has to offer.



I hope that was not too extreme. Bill, no offense, just your logic at work.
