Denver convoy to Greeley -

Graystone Castle it is then - is that a dealership, gas station?... either way we'll find it. We'll see you there at ~ 8 am tomorrow am. Other Denver bubbas - if you want to meet us there then the more the merrier.

Sweet - see y'all tomorrow.

- Max

Graystone Castle is a hotel/nightclub/bar. It is located on the notheast corner of 120th and I-25. It looks like a castle, making it harder to miss.

Well guys and gals (Hi Shay!) I will not be able to attend this event. I finally got a new job (Central Motive Power - apprentice diesel technician) and due to the pay cut I can not afford to take any extra days off during my final week with my current empoyer. At least now I am back to having Saturdays and Sundays off so attending the rest of the events should not be a problem.

I hope everyone has a good time!

Luke warmwater - I will get in touch with you later about that follow up.

Enjoy!

numbers

just got off the phone with one of the people over there and i guess that the guys are jamming them out. i heard the high is about 680 so far so that's pretty good i'd say. Makes me feel good since my high on the dyno was 580

I got over there at about 1030 and they had run about 10 trucks i believe. By the time we left at 2:00 they had run about 30 trucks. Not sure about high HP but i think the high TQ was somewhere around 1200 by the guys from ATS. That may not be the corrected # but, there were lots of trucks w/ big time power. There were quite a few trucks over 1000 lb ft. This was my first "dyno day" w/ diesels and I have to say that It was by far the best "dyno day" I've ever been to. Thanks to everyone that help put this deal on. IMO the most impressive run of the day was an older Cummins powered FERD. I think it put up something like 350hp and 1000lbft. Hopefully noone will fling too much poo my way if any of these #'s are off.

right on man that's good to hear i know that laser bob and bruce put a lot of time and effort into the event and i'm sure that's what the hopes were. I just wish my truck wasn't sitting at ats. lol

they said clints dmax was like 680 or something then there is another 2nd gen dodge it's blue and i can't remember the guys name to save my life but he was right at 680 also i guess i didn't hear the torque. Very impressive numbers for sure i just wanna sneak up on them.

old cummins powered ford sounds like maddog but the numbers don't sound like him at all it'd be more like 800 and who knows what torque

I want to say thank's to Bob and all the other wonderful people who helped make this possible. It was a wonderful day and I, for one, had a GREAT time.

The Blue truck was twinned and I think that the torque was around 1300-1350

but I could be wrong.

sounds like a good job

well mr bob sounds like u guys did a fine job out there. I can't believe i had a flex plate issue 3 days before. what a bummer. It seems that everyone is really happy with the event, that's good considering all the effort u guys did put forth. I'm glad that it worked out so well. Like I said this guy is good. Mr. bob i know you weren't nearly busy enough though between towing me back to your shop and getting the dyno day ready, I have a feeling that deep down inside you were just praying and hoping that those 3 sets of twins were gonna arrive maybe late wednesday or thursday. That would of really been the challenge there. Once you realized they weren't arriving it was cake after that.

As far as the rigs, i figured that blue twinned would do good, i just wish his friendly rival with twins would of had better luck in the last month.

Clints rig is twinned too right? I figured i'd wait to send them an email until after the transmission work but i couldn't resist.

What time did all the dyno's finally end anyhow?

The last truck (the 55th of the day) was at about 8PM

That works out to about 4. 5 trucks per hour. Actually more than that due to the dyno giving Bob a good buzz (electrically) :-laf We lost about an hour or so due to this wierd malfunction.

For a while, I've always thought it weird that my truck sounded different than almost every other 24V I have heard. Mine had more rattle, less rumble. By comparison, other trucks sounded like big rigs. These trucks ALL seemed to have some heavy towing under their belts.

By comparison, mine has never been hooked to a load bigger than dragging my Nissan on a dolly.

Well, if my truck wasn't broken in at 38K miles, IT IS NOW!! That SuperFlow seems to have done the trick, giving my truck the load it wanted for so long. It sounds different at idle, like the other CTDs.

Now, my truck is "one of the guys":)

BTW-- 350hp, 904 TQ on STOCK CLUTCH-- STILL!

Yee-ha.

Do you think we can get a list of the names and hp and tq #'s?

Warmwater what did you run? Did you go like 41st or something? Thought I saw your truck but I didn't go up and say hi.

Hohn is yours a six speed? Awesome TQ #'s out of a 24V!!!

I put down 347 and 812 with a stock 5 clutch!!!

Damn does that dyno put a load on the engine, my EGT's went off the charts on the 3rd run lol. Fun event will be back next year for sure, hopefully right around 500... .

So was it just that kids truck or did something go wrong with the dyno?

The older Ford put down near 400. 93 first gen motor with meth injection!!! Nice looking rig.

Great time thanks Bob

Yeah, it's a 6-speed. One for each cylinder:)

Yeah, the uncorrected #s were 299hp, 750 tq. I was pumped to see 750tq as a raw number at over 5000 feet! I think my truck was one of the stronger HOs in stock trim. Good foundation to build on.

The stock clutch is continuing to impress me. Supposedly, it wasn't going to hold when I bombed my truck to this level. That was 26K hard miles ago:cool:

Bob, sounds like you had a good event. Sorry I could not make it up. We are behind on getting the dragster ready. I have it scattered in the garage, but making progress.

I heard good things about the event from some that were there.

Yeah, I was #41. It put down 514 with 33psi boost & 1325f egt. That dyno made my truck purr. Pretty cool making a ton of boost down low just like you can on the street. I have to apologize for jabbing Bob in the ribs. I think it was Mike who was standing in the front and was waving off Bob as they were running it up the first time. I didn't think Bob saw him and was imagining oil spewing out the bottom. I gave Bob a couple bumps to get his attention. He had seen Mike and calmly ignored my jabs until he got what he was after rpm wise. Mike was waving off causing something was not registering correctly with the dyno, not because my truck was about to come apart lol. Sorry Bob! Thanks for all the hard work. You guys did a great job.

I'd love to see what everyone else was putting down. I heard a couple trucks that sounded pretty strong.

What a Great Day!!!

I would like to say, What a Great Day was had by all. My personal THANKS to LaserBob and Greeley Automotive Machince for a Great time. A good time was had by all. As usual we could not have put this on with out Shay Black, the NCPSD club and the Chevy guys. We all put down some impressive numbers. I Thank everyone who showed up and helped out in the Dyno room. I do not know everyone's names so I do not want to miss any one, but Richard, Tim, David, Jordan, Dave, Kieth, LaserBob, Leonard, and those who I can not remember there names I personally appreciate your help. You do not know how much this means to me, Bob, Shay and GAM. The clean up crew on Sunday was much appreciated. It is amazing how much sooooooooot we can put everywhere. Besides insides our noses, on our faces and all over everything and still have a great time. Looking forward to the next event.

Scott,

Bummer you couldn't make it. But we were thinking about ya, as we had a picture of your dragster up on the wall, right along side a picture of Eric McBride's dragster. :D

Maybe next time.

Shay

The airport elevation in Greeley is 4662 or close to that. It is about 3 miles straight east of the shop on what appears to be level road.
