GLTDR Lansing meeting!

Just want to give a quick update. I was originally thinking that 50 or 60 would be a good turn out but was I wrong. So far it looks like about 125 yes that is a 125 people and the list is still growing daily. One heck of a turn out. Should be a great time. So get your rsvps in as soon as possible so we can get an accurate head count and know what to plan for. See you all there.

I gotta come now...

Don just had to go and put that info on the new manifold and ball bearing turbo on the ATS forums. I have to go check this thing out in person! Oo.

Suggestion

Barry and all,

Can I make one suggestion? If we're really going to have that many people show up is there any way we can get ahold of and use nametags/stickers/whatever. Something where we can write our name and TDR "handle" so we can put a name with the face kinda thing.

I know, I know, "how cheesy... nametags!?!?" But it would really help those of us (ok, maybe just me) trying to meet the people we see on the board thru a bunch of characters.

Also I'm thinking about doing an article for the TDR on the meet and it will help keep who said what straight vice relying on my ability to recall "just met" people.

This was the one thing I wish we would've done at the last meeting at Traildust so we weren't constantly running around going "who are you on the board???"

Brian

I think Brian has a great idea, that is alot of people to try and keep straight. I also have a question, I have never been to a TDR meet, do I need to bring any money or anything like that? I am also wondering if there will be enough parking for all of us.

I agree with Sregorb about the name tags. They are corny but they do help. I am looking forward to this. I might even wash the CTD for the event:D -frank

I will bring some tags as Brian did have a good idea there. He also is going to do a write up for the magazine.

Money is not required to come. Unless you have more than you know what do with, in which case I will be more than happy to take some off your hands LOL. Also I am sure ATS will be happy to sell you products if you choose and I may even put up a donation can so people can contribute if they wish as I think this has turned out to be more than I or ATS anticipated.

Parking is going to be an issue but ATS has spoken with their neighbors and have gotten consent to use their spaces as most are closed on the weekends and as of yet ATS has not informed me that it is going to be any real problem.

membership

mgoncalves-

membership is as simple as this... . are you a member of TDR and willing to travel to the meet/gatherings? If yes, then you are a member of RMTDR. No extra dues, no fancy certificates, no hoopla, no pomp and circumstance band, no..... you get the picture.

It's just good comraderie and a temporary higher density of good people in a predetermined geographical location. Rumor has it this time even has food!

Anyway, there used to be this ugly business about initiation's but I'm sure K_Arts will jump in here anytime to inform you why that particular requirement was removed... ... . :D :D :D

Brian

Oh! You know what, I forgot, there was a band!

But that was at the last gathering.

Just no band this time. :-laf :p

Brian

Edit: Oops, spoke too soon. Looks like we get the priviledge of hearing fkovalski serenade us with his kazoo... .

I don't suppose you know any country songs on your kazoo? LOL! or classical. ROTFLOL! or rap. ROTFLMAO!

RMTDR Meet

Well the wife and I went down to ATS on Saturday to meet with them and make sure all our ducks were in a row. Have some new/additional info.

The count is now up to 170+.

Also apparently Clint participates in a radio show and they are going to do a remote show at ATS from 9 to 11am.

They have the parking issue squared away. For those of you that have been there before you know they have a small parking lot but directly across the street on 43rd north side is a lot they have permission to use, also street parking on 43rd as well as across the street (east side of kipling directly south of the strip center) they have another lot they can use. The parking areas will be marked with signage and balloons.

John Elway Dodge will be bringing an 03 3/4 ton and an 03 1 ton vehicle for us to oooh and aah over as well as product info on them.

The day will start off with us all meeting in their bays en masse and you get to listen to me speak for a few moments, John Elway Dodge will speak for a few moments, Cummins Rocky Mountain Power Boosters will speak about their organization. By that time Clint will be done with the radio show and then Clint and ATS will take over. Clint will speak for a few then we will break up into groups for the different seminars- general transmission, valve body function and torque converter function. Lunch will be in there somewhere probably between seminars. They will have products on display and literature. There will be some handouts on the various schedules, product info etc etc... ATS will be fully staffed to help answer any questions.

This meet is going to be written up for the TDR Magazine by our own reporter on the spot Brian Rogers (SRegorb). He said he would even bring a camera instead of his usual crayon artwork. Just kidding Brian I know you don't know how to use crayons. LOL. Seriously though I really appreciate the effort you will put into the article.

So be prepared to talk trucks, eat food, get information and just have fun. See you all there.

Barry

170+ people!?!?!?!?! Wow!

Trucks, food, lotsa information, and like-minded people? Who could ask for more. OOOOH, I can, I hope there's door prizes!!!! Like those 03's (hint, hint) :D :D :D

I'm excited about this meet! This sounds like it'll be great! C'ya all there. I guess that means I need to wash my truck..... ok, have the truck washed... whatever.

Brian

ps. c'mon Barry, you know the crayons are only for the itty-bitty meets. Geez. This sounds like the big-time so I might have to break out THE MARKERS!!!!!

Wow!!

170 people+, thats way more people than I expected should make for a great time!! Barry I was wondering if you got my email for my RSVP. If you didn't I'm bringing a total of three:D. So I guess I'll see you there.

Joe

170+ this IS exciting! Barry, I hadnt got a read receipt that you got my email regarding my attendance. Hopefully you got the word I will be there!

Well everybody this is coming together quite well, so far anyway. Everything seems to be set. Look for the ballons and signs for the parking areas. Make sure and sign in when you get there. Cummins Rocky Mountain is going to bring their dragster as well. The count is now up to 220 and this has really turned into an event more than a meet. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Barry

RMTDR MEET

IT WAS A GREAT MEET, OVER 200 SHOWED UP AND ATS WAS A GREAT HOST. YOU ALL COME BACK NOW , YA HEAR? TBOB

Very nice job setting this one up guys! I was very impressed with Barry and ATS for getting this thing put together. It was well worth the trip from Wyoming! I learned alot in general about torque converters and transmissions, and also just what ATS does to their torque converters to make them so different.

Very nice job everyoneOo.

Looking forward to making some more RMTDR meets.
