Thanks, TDR Staff

Big Thanks out to the RMTDR

Lunch April 5th at Famoous Dave's.

Thanks for the offers mlockner and K_Arts!! I will take you up on the test ride if I can make it. Hope nothing unexpected comes up so I can meet some of you and learn how to change injectors and what ever else takes place.

If I can wait , I will have a US gear e-brake that will need to be installed. Will there be enough room for one more 3500? Or is this going to be a little more involved than a wrench day can handle?

Sticks

These guys really do not do exhaust work and I do not know what all changes when you put on an E brake. I would assume that something has to change in that area.

Sticks,

is your E-brake a turbo mount or a Remote mount? Either way, if we get 2 or 3 of us we can put that bad boy on in the parking lot.

If it's a turbo mount, the only thing that changes is the rear adapter to the exhaust housing on your turbo. If it's a remote mount, we just need a pipe cutter or something to remove about a 4" piece of your exhaust wherever you would like it mounted.

E-brakes are easy to install... :D

Or if anything else, I'd be happy to meet up with you somewhere and help you install it.

Kev

Kev,

The US-Gear E-brake is a remote mount super duty, or as I like to call it, down wind. The US-Gear application guide calls for a 13" section of straight pipe, plenty of that in front of the resonator. It also has a 3. 5 inch diameter fitting. I have the 3500 HO and their chart says this is the one that I need. I am getting it second hand from another TDR member. I am told all the hardware and wiring is intact, and the main solenoid is working, unsure of the wastegate valve. I will be downloading the installation guide tonight.

If I have the wrong e-brake, then I guess I have one for sale:rolleyes:

Hey Fella's, As a reminder about the RMTDR wrench day at the Big O tire store located at 12740 North Colorado Blvd. Thorton, CO. on Sunday March 9th. We will meet around 9:00 a. m. and hopefully it will be a good day. I know of a couple of injector installs, maybe a gauge set, KDP fix and a couple other little things. The friend of mine who owns the store is going to have his American Eagle supplier there for a short presentation with some things to look at also. There will be soda's, water and pizza's provided. Come if you can.

MIke Lockner

I just received conformation that my e-brake will be shipped tomorrow. Hopefully it will be here by Friday, Saturday if UPS delivers. If not, one less thing to worry about.

I am going to try and make it, gonna have to pass on the gauge install as I dont think I will have them in time. Have some 275s that might be here by then, if so would love to put them in!

I may come up to install my Bilstiens if I receive them by then from Off Road Warehouse. If not , maybe just to observe some wrenching. Craig

Just a quick note.

For Anybody wanting to install injectors, we need to be sure that we have a torque wrench handy. Does anybody have one they can bring?

Thanks

Kev

So everyone knows, I will be bringing both an inch pound and foot pound torque wrench to work with. I also have a 19mm crows foot for doing the injector lines with. Sounds like there may be 3 or 4 injector installs that day.

Is anyone at the wrench day interested in an AFE MegaCannon Intake system. I have one for sale and figured I'd give you guys first chance at it. I have had it on for less than a 1000 miles and it is obviously very clean. There is one in the classifieds for $210, but I can do better that that since it has been slightly used and I wouldn't have to pay shipping. I would also trade for something if you wanted to go that route.

Nothing wrong with it that I know of just a bit too noisy for my 6 month old daughter and frankly me at times.

If no one is interested I will put it in the classifieds and see how that goes, but I will plan on bringing it on Sunday in case someone is interested.

Just remembered I had the restore kit to add to the package!!!

Thanks

We'll talk. I have done a couple of things to mine that have quieted it down. There may be hope for yours yet.

Well folks, I'm sorry I can't make it today... Seems the kids dragged home the flu last week from daycare and we're dealing with that right now and I didn't feel like I (or my copilot) could stomach the 4 hour trip to/from. I tried to wait til the last second and hope for the best but it just didn't pan out. :( :{

Anyway, I'm so jealous now. I wanted to soak up the practical, hands-on knowledge. argh!

Anyway, I want to hear all about it! How'd it go???

Brian

ps. Trust me, you'll feel better because I didn't go..... especially after the incubation period. :p

Thanks to Barry, Mike, and Kevin for the technical advice and putting up with the questions. Special thanks to the owner of the shop for the use of the facilities. :D

It was great being able to watch and learn how the injector swap happens, and pick up on the special tricks (leave the intake horn off when you prime and start for the first time) and seeing a KDP fix. Three more 12v's safe from that one. Thanks Jim!

Seeing is believing. DDIII's HX40 and DTT transmission test ride :--) +edge comp:--) :--) :--)

Nice to meet everyone there, hope to see you all at the next local meet!

I'd like to say THANKS to the RMTDR guys who showed up for the wrench day. We can plan and set up all kinds of things, but with out attendance and input from the group there just ain't nothing there. It takes a group of people with like interest and who made the effort to come that made this successful. I had a great time and am looking forward to up coming meetings.

This was my first time attending a local get together. I had a great time and enjoyed meeting everyone.

I'd like to send out a big thanks of appreciation to Barry for helping put this together and John Gregor for lending us use of his facility for the day, it was nice wrenching inside a shop and out of the weather for a change. I was one of the 12v guys who put to rest another KDP, I'd like to thank the area KDP jig keeper Dee Rawson for loaning us the jig for the day. Thanks is also in order to Jim Lyman for showing Tom and I how to do the jig fix, and then lend a helping hand.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Dyno days.
