Colorado Diesel Powerstroke Dyno Day Results

Truck & tractor pull September 6th

I'm definitely interested in stopping over, meeting some of the local enthusiasts, etc... CORed, sent you a PM

Guys, let me know if I can bring anything... tools, drinks, etc. I've also got a G-tech Pro, so if anybody is doing performance mods and wants to do a before/after quarter-mile run... .

G-tech

JVanvuren,

Does that thing estimate HP? If so I would be very interested in a test run. I haven't been able to Dyno the truck since I've put all the goodies on it.

Sure does, but you have to know the weight of your truck. The more exact you are with the weight the more accurate the results will be... this means having the same amount of fuel in the tank as when the truck was weighed, etc. Then, if we get what we feel is an accurate horsepower reading we can figure torque using a formula. The G-tech is definitely a fun toy

I'm not sure I even know what you're referring to... I have one of the original G-techs, not the new fancy one... don't think there is any way to link to a PC with mine

Update

Well, looks like about 3-4 committed guys will be there and another 2 or 3 who are not sure yet. There is definitely room for more.

Of those, only a couple of us are planning to do anything to their trucks so we should be able to get everything done.

As far as bringing anything, I'll have drinks and some snacks, but if you want to share your favorite drink / snack, that would be fine. I have a grill, but I figured we'd do a collection and order pizza for lunch.

As long as you bring whatever you need and want to install on your truck, we'll probably be fine. So if you want to install DDII's or something, you better bring 'em cause I don't have 'em. :D ;)

So far, there is a gauge install or two and a D25 / Bilstein install. There is a G-Tech toy to play with and maybe an IAT / MAP sensor cleaning going on as well. Maybe someone will want to remove the silencer ring or the snorkel and that is very easy.

After the gauge install, some recommend a new fuel filter to get the highest reading so we may do that. I have two on-hand, so if someone can't get one in time, we could probably work something out.

See you all at 9am this Saturday. Again, PM me if you want my address and directions.

This should be a lot of fun!! Oo.

Steve

sounds good - I have some gauges to install. .

COred- What are D25's? I take it they are leveling springs?

Do the snow plow prep'd trucks sit more level?

Thx

AFacey...

The D25's are the 2. 5 inch lift springs made by Skyjacker that lots of guys use to replace their stock springs.

I have heard the snow plow package contains front springs that are higher and stiffer. The difference between the snow plow springs and the D25's may not be much, but I still think the D25's are a bit taller. My current stock springs are the 38/39 set and are the lightest on a Cummins from what I have read. So I'm replacing them for increased height AND improved ride.

Definitely bring your gauges... looks like there may be 2-3 of us nstalling them Saturday and at least 2 or 3 that have done it before.

PM me if you need my address / directions.

Wow! What stars are aligned? Looks like I can make it after all! No projects in the hopper for the truck right now but always willing to help

:D

Brian

Gall darn, wish I could come down. Have a honey do list a mile long that the truck and I have been neglecting. Wife says to much quality time with the truck.

jrandal... aaah man!!!

That's too bad. Sorry to hear you have been neglecting that honey-do list. I sent my wife to Las Vegas for the weekend so I could put the honey-do list off another week. (Actually, not really, she wanted to see an old girlfriend there).

But I think we are ready to go. We'll see you all tomorrow morning sometime. If you have problems finding it, give me a call at the # I put in the PM. Otherwise, just pull over in NE Colorado Springs, shut off your motor, and listen very carefully... depending on how close you are, you might just hear a symphony of Cummins. :)

Steve

I'll check this site for any last minute address / phone requests on Saturday morning just in case.

As of now, it looks as if I will be able to attend. Thanks for the directions, CORed, but me thinks I will take the back way through the mountains. If some one has a gauge, I would not mind having my fuel pressure checked. I will see y'all in the a. m. -frank.

Thanks for the directions Steve! I told Brian to leave the fish alone this weekend and get roll'in over to your place. See ya in the morning. CliffOo.

Sounds like a good time is going to be had! Unfortunately I won't be able to make it down. A friend of mine has free passes to boat races, free food, beer, etc. just can't pass it up. What are the chances it would fall on the same day. ?:(

Since I don't have anything to do to my truck right now and I'm not exactly Mr. Goodwrench I'll have to choose the free beer event:D

Have fun guys! - Rob

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:{ :{ :{ :{ :{ :{ :{ :{

I just got back in town and found out that today is wrench day. If anyone knows how to get in touch with CORed please tell him to check his PMs. I just sent my phone number for directions.

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scott

Hey Scott, Sorry ya didn't make it down here this time around but for sure ... . next timeOo. I told CORED maybe we will have it at my place next time. ~~~ See Ya ~~~ Cliff

Hey guys,

It was great to meet all of you, and Steve - thanks for hosting! Sorry I had to leave early.

And I'm sorry, but I forgot which one of you told me your son, nephew, something like that had a radio he wasn't using? PM me please... .

Next one can be at my place... . don't have the ideal setup for hosting (long narrow driveway) but I think we could get by. Shop has a fridge, restroom, etc, and I probably have room for 9 or 10 trucks overall, plus street parking.
