Road rage and the political Forum

Whew, Just left the political Forum, man those guys are brutal. Wanted to jump in but thought better of it... ... I have some pretty radical ideas. Anyway, Was fighting a serious case of road rage this morning cause of all the stupid people on my side of the world (AZ people are lucky cause they don't live near the Megalopolis). Camme up with an idea and wanted to brainstorm it with the good folks at TDR.



Next time I honk my horn at the goofball in front of me doing 20 mph under the speed limit cause his phone rang and I get that ridiculous look like I am the idiot I want a way to... . ah open there eyes a little. I am thinkin it would be cool to hit a button and have a military surplus rocket rise from the hood maybe with a smokin tail and a blinkin red nose. :--) Of course this would just be for effect but I really think it would help get the message across. Any thoughts

The Political Forum should be labled "for those that like to have heated discussions and get nowhere". I spent some time trying to state my views in a non-combative manner with very little results. Now I just avoid the heartburn



I think the rocket thing is a good idea but from a legal point of view I don't think it would be any different than pointing a gun at someone.

Yep, a lot of hatrid over there. I started to get in on the abortion thing, but I figured I would rather poke myself in the eye. Do they have a smiley for that?



My dad tells me there is a picture of me in the dictionary next to road rage, but I have not verified this myself yet

Your right, I should probably get a real one and use it... ... ... . Seems like you get in less trouble for real bad stuff these days How did we end up like that anyway. Speaking of interrogation, I wonder how many of us (TDR users) are on a CIA list somewhere for talking about bombs all day



I am really tempted to overfuel my truck just so I can show my displeasure with inconsiderate drivers Or how about a hand with the middle finger in the air attached to the window, it would replace the flags everyone is so fond of hanging on the windows these days.



Since I am talkin bout smokin my bad mornin started off close to my house (in a rural area) I go by the local trout fishin hole and ther is some dude dressed in his Cabella's Catalog suit head to toe puffin on a ciggarette. I go by just in time to see him throw the butt on the ground... . er. . in the water right where he is standin. I feel just like the cryin indian on the old commercials when I see stuff like that. Why can't people who smoke dispose of cigarette butts where they belong. Ever pull up to a stop light in the city. The damn things are everywhere. I say ban the damn things if they are going to end up all over the street.

I often wish I had a real one. Like the last time I went to Dallas witht he 5th wheel. Coming back down I-20 some nut cut in front of me and slammed on his brakes. I had pulled over in front of him to pass a slower vehicle. He was in a minivan with his family, had no inkling what 19,500 pounds of serious weight would have done to his equipment/family and mine. From your signature, lookd like you have the equipment to make some serious smoke, maybe try raising the exhaust pipe to about window level by the way, I doubt that you have any edge on crazies, if so you have my sympathies. bg

Nah no edge here. Just felt like complainin a little. Too many real nuts on the road to go around messin with people too much. I sympathize with your towin problem. I have seen people do stupid stuff like that with tractor trailers many times. Your right they just don't understand what could happen. For one I always try to "help" out the guy headin down the road with a heavy load: just by stayin out of the way or lettin em in when no one else will... ..... now whered I put my rocket launcher.

On my truck the flatbed sits about level with a cars window. Alls I would need is a 90* elbow pointing towards the side.



Or another idea I had the other day was to run the exhaust to the middle of the rear bumper. Then splice in a piece of flex pipe and rig up a way to swing the pipe back and forth (basically a full 180*) so no matter where they are I can smoke them.

Well anyway- On way home from work today, was doing 43 in a 40 construction zone, sure enough, I was passed by a woman on a cell. . IN THE ZONE!! I have officially seen everything. Going camping for next 4 days on the Eastern Shore (VA), wont be checking in. . so relax everyone, take it easy and take care--

What you need is something that displays your humorous side.



One idea would be to carry a PeeWee Herman doll. When you have the rage, pull alongside and get the guy's attention by holding up the doll, so he can see who it is, and then start smacking it against the dashboard. He should get the hint that you think he's a pervert and needs to be punished.

I'm trying like all hel to have patience with slowpokes, phone addicts, those little mini-vans with religious symbols on them, and people from New Yoke City who put on their turn signal and run over you as if we're supposed to bow down to them as if they're royalty.

Political forum... It's the reason I won't be re- newing my sub this August. Yes I realize I don't have to go there but, I don't care to pay to be a member of a site that caters to their type.

From the time I was 16, I always thought an icicle cannon to blow their tire out, would be perfect. They pull over, and call AAA on their precious cell phone, the evidence melts by the time the tow truck gets there!! Perfect!



On the other hand, a local truck driver mounted a train horn behind his cab, pointed out the passenger side of his truck-SUV window height!:--)



He says he has only used it anger a few times, or 7,8,9,10... .

in my younger days, i had a P. A. speaker in my engine compartment of my Opel, and a portable 50 watt amp inside.

when someone in front of me did something stupid, i would either start yelling at them with unintelligent jiberish or make a police siren sound. most times they would pull over to the side and i would go around as if nothing happened.



maybe its time to find that old thing and put it in the CTD.

Think about it, if you leave that will be one less of us and one more of them, we need all the help we can get. I believe the moderators/powers that be, are doing a good job of trying to keep things kinda civil without infringing on someones right to make an ass of themself. bg

I've not been in the political forum since Steve opened it several months ago. I don't want to see all the 'heated' discussions going on so I choose to not go there.
