does Cummins still have it available? or did I not spend my $1000 fast enough???? it's no longer listed on their webpage --thanks

Interesting - I was on the phone today with cummins. They aren't really pleased with the response of the dodge application of the Road Relay 4. They sell a ton for the big rig guys but I guess the demand is pretty low for our trucks (and retail of 995 could be a good reason why. ) I have a guy calling me back in the morning for more info, but for my truck I believe there are 6 left in the warehouse.

I doubt it, but it would be cool if we could get a group purchase direct from Cummins on all remaining RoadRelay's and hook the members up and take them off of Cummins' hands.

I'll let you know when I hear something,

j

i believe that is still is, i am interested in getting one but i don't want to drop the 600. 00 right now. the cummins part # i show for a 01 5-speed is 4005954:confused:

Mundgyver-

where did you mount the Roadrelay (any pics you could post?) and overall, do you think it was worth it? If you don't mind me asking, what was the price range you paid. thanks tons,

jason

:( I am one of the wanna-be digital camera owners. I don't have any pictures that I can post of the mounting. It came with a mount system that allowed me to put it in the designed mount of hanging below the cubby hole in front of the shifter. Easy to get to and easy to read. I thought about putting it up on the dash, but decided againt that, as it would draw more attention than necessary.

Pricing could have been better from Cummins I think for what this is. Mine was in the $800 range. As far as does it fit the bill for satisfaction, yes for me it does. I cannot speak for other owner though. It will give me all the codes for the engine and the brake system should anything go wrong. I can lock down the engine from starting. I can input fuel used and set up maintenance schedule intervals by miles or hours. It will keep track of trip info and provides mpg data and if I am in the sweet spot for economey. It also give me how much time I spend just sitting idling or on the move under load and how much load in %.

If you have an automatic it will monitor the transmission instead of the brakes.

I am well pleased with it. The only snag I ran into was that it used the connector that the comp ties into for the computer. What I did was use the road relay wiring harness and then tapped the back of the connector under the dash that the road relay plugs into. The tap is where I hooked up the 2 wires for the comp box into the supplied harness from Cummins. I am using the 3 wire harness provided by Cummins vice the 2 wire harness from Edge. The difference is a ground wire.

I guess I will need to forgoe one of my planned upgrades and breakdown ang buy a digital so I can post pictures.

:D :D :D

Yes it is still running. It has become a primary necessary device that I constantly use. The only real issue that I have with it, is that I have never been able to turn on the security lock out feature that it has. The ECM has to have a paticualar bit made to enable the function and good old Dodge did not have that function enabled so the Roadrelay could work with it. But that is what I have the Smarty for. Program 0, will not allow the truck to even start. ;) :D when I load it in. ;)
