Save Country Music

Limited time, I like it because you have no idea what the next song will be. Like the old Super Shuffle on Channel 12 a few years back.

Mike;
I use Pandora radio which is free through the phone and blue tooth with the radio. My play list is anything from the late 60's to the Eagles radio station.

I do not like SIRIUS since they merge with XM and all of the talking DJ's on there channels now.

Just me be grumpy.

We don't have the choices in carriers up here so the data plans are a little pricier. The only and I mean only carrier you can count on up here for reliable cell service is US Cellular.

Verizon, ATT, Sprint, etc. all suck when you get away from the bigger towns. Plus US Cellular does NOT share all of their towers with the competition. My father and my son both have Verizon and were with me one day in central Maine. They were both trying to place calls with no luck and no signal. I had 4 bars and lent them my phone along with an "I told you so.."
As a result I stick with them so that I can count on a working phone but pay more than the competition offers for 2MB of data per month. I could not stream Pandora for my 2 hours of driving per day without running way over my data plan. Plus when out of cell range I can still get Sirius / XM. I also chew up a fair amount of data checking e-mails and such.

I do like Pandora, I have created a couple of really good stations that I listen to at home and at work when I can....my pride and joy being a mix of AC/DC, Johnny Cash, The Cult and Rodney Carrington set to shuffle. After some heavy work with the thumbs up and down buttons I have created quite a station!!!

Most of the Sirius Channels that I listen to don't have much chatter, once in a while on a weekend maybe. I don't think 147 has anything other than the occasional promo. I hope they keep it on the air, it is a limited engagement for now. A really good mix of driving tunes.

147 sounded pretty good till they started playing rap......

That would be the end for me.
My wife and I just did a trip to PA and back, 5300 miles. I was going to take my pickup, but couldn't resist the 34-36 MPG of her Acura. I sure was missing the satellite radio(trial subscription)in my pickup.Had to keep scanning for stations every ten minutes, and almost every country station was playing nothing but the garbage now being pawned off as country. What tripe! COWBOY+RAP=CRAP

Yes, one will come on now and then but the most part it's good music. I'm into a pretty broad spectrum of music anyways and that's why I really like a random stream of songs..

The new Country music is however off the table. Love the old stuff.

It's back, it went away for a few weeks.

I jumped into the truck Sunday for a grocery and dump run, the SAT was still on 147 from two weeks back. Drove a couple of miles before the significance of 147 playing music again penetrated my somewhat thick head. Listened to it all week since so far in Hoopty and have had it on all day here in the office. No rap so far.

I would say that Sirius had somewhat positive reviews so brought it back and tweaked the content a little???

Give it a try......

I added an XM receiver in the Shaggin Wagon as soon as I brought it home. It wasn't an available option for some reason. I know that there is a lot of other music options available now, but I still can't go without satellite radio.

Just finished Johnny Paycheck's Take this job and Shove it! Then to George Thorogood's Bad to the bone!

I think they are getting it figured out!:D

I'm gonna send in a comment to that effect. They had it fine tuned when they pulled it off the air. They should keep it for sure.
