Mike;
I use Pandora radio which is free through the phone and blue tooth with the radio. My play list is anything from the late 60's to the Eagles radio station.
I do not like SIRIUS since they merge with XM and all of the talking DJ's on there channels now.
Just me be grumpy.
Jim
We don't have the choices in carriers up here so the data plans are a little pricier. The only and I mean only carrier you can count on up here for reliable cell service is US Cellular.
Verizon, ATT, Sprint, etc. all suck when you get away from the bigger towns. Plus US Cellular does NOT share all of their towers with the competition. My father and my son both have Verizon and were with me one day in central Maine. They were both trying to place calls with no luck and no signal. I had 4 bars and lent them my phone along with an "I told you so.."
As a result I stick with them so that I can count on a working phone but pay more than the competition offers for 2MB of data per month. I could not stream Pandora for my 2 hours of driving per day without running way over my data plan. Plus when out of cell range I can still get Sirius / XM. I also chew up a fair amount of data checking e-mails and such.
I do like Pandora, I have created a couple of really good stations that I listen to at home and at work when I can....my pride and joy being a mix of AC/DC, Johnny Cash, The Cult and Rodney Carrington set to shuffle. After some heavy work with the thumbs up and down buttons I have created quite a station!!!
Most of the Sirius Channels that I listen to don't have much chatter, once in a while on a weekend maybe. I don't think 147 has anything other than the occasional promo. I hope they keep it on the air, it is a limited engagement for now. A really good mix of driving tunes.
