Not sure where this belongs.

Looking for experiences good and bad with various "Travel Clubs". AAA and the like. The TDR travel companion is great but when I need a tow I'd like some help paying for it.

I need to make a decision this week as I'm getting ready to head out for an East coast "Junket" to pick up parts in WV, PA and NY.

I don't know of it's still in effect but I was towed free twice in '95, paid for by Chrysler up front. The way it's explained in some paperwork that came with the owners manual is that they will tow any Chrysler vehicle to the nearest dealer, warranty or not. It only covers mechanical problems, no accidents or stuck in the snow etc. Both times the tow truck driver asked me where I wanted to go, they didn't care about the dealer. Try the number and see if it's still good and what the requirements may be 1-800-521-2779





on edit : I tried, free towing is still availible for my trucks at least. They will ask for your vin number. You can also access it at www.eroadassist.com they will ask for the full phone number above.

I've had AAA for 22 years.

I had "Road Care" for 8 years. . They have been taken over by the affinity group(CampingWorld,GoodSam,TrailerLife,etc). I used them before the takeover. . and they were exceptional. .

Tried to use them last Summer for a flat on the 5er. . After an hour I called back. . they said couldn't get anyone to come help. .

I told them I wouldn 't cancel if they would call me with an explanation of why it didn't work. . They never called. . I cancelled.

I now have Allstate. . $89 per year. . and they will pull the trailer.

Haven't used it so only quoting what the brochure said.

BTW. . My son bought a used car and part of the deal was a road service furnished by Road Care. . I saw that called the 800# got a recording saying to call back ,they were busy. . He cancelled that part of the deal. .
